Dry skin: pathology or regularity?
Dry skin is not a disease, but a complex of symptoms

We hear complaints about dry skin quite often. The reason for this can be a feeling of tightness of the skin, roughness, painful microcracks that appear after washing. It would seem that there is nothing simpler: just apply a moisturizer to the skin - and the problem is solved!
Dehydrated skin looks dry, wrinkled, dull, lifeless, loses its elasticity. There is a constant light rejection of the cells of the stratum corneum as the appearance of a large number of grayish-white scales on the surface of the skin. The surface of the skin becomes rough and hard to the touch.
Cracks may occur in areas of constant stretching. Often, xerosis is accompanied by persistent redness and coarsening of the skin. Its owner experiences pronounced unpleasant sensations in the form of tightness, tingling, itching.
Sensitivity to exogenous influences (weather factors, water procedures, use of cosmetics) increases, which is manifested by a tendency to inflammatory reactions and a decrease in the ability to repair. The slightest damage to the stratum corneum is a great stress for the skin, in response, epidermal cells begin to produce cytokines that regulate the process of stratum corneum restoration.
