Complications of meso- and botulinum therapy: mistakes and preventive measures
How to prevent undesirable phenomena?

The main prevention of complications from injection procedures in the practice of a cosmetologist is the constant improvement of one's own professionalism and regular advanced training, the presence of a diploma of a dermatologist, as well as specialization in the field of "cosmetology".
An insufficiently pronounced effect from therapy or a complete lack of results are possible if drugs are incorrectly selected to correct a particular problem or, as we wrote earlier, if procedures are incorrectly prescribed.
A more complex problem is the development of inflammation or deeper changes in the skin if the composition of the mesococktail is disturbed or drugs are used that are not indicated for intradermal administration (calcium chloride, fat emulsions, etc.).
When working with hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations, prolonged presence of papules is possible. Normally, depending on the concentration of HA, papules should disappear within 12–72 hours. In case of underestimation of the degree of skin dehydration and introduction of HA preparations, papules can remain on the skin even longer and cause at least aesthetic problems, and in case of constant traumatization by the patient's hands, there is a possibility of developing inflammatory complications.
