What is Madecassoside and what is the function of this cosmetic ingredient?
Madecassoside has recently gained popularity due to its active promotion as an ingredient in new skin care products for sensitive and mature skin. Despite its similar origin and very similar function, asiaticoside remains less known to the general public. Paradoxically, Asiaticoside was the first to be described by Boitat, and received its just fame almost a hundred years earlier.
Madecassoside is one of the main terpenes found in Centella Asiatica extract, with outstanding anti-inflammatory properties. With its proven efficacy and anti-inflammatory properties, Madecassoside can alleviate the condition of sensitive, atopic and psoriasis-prone skin.
