Carbon dioxide – poison or vaccine? The use of carboxytherapy in cosmetology

Carboxytherapy came to cosmetology from the field of treatment of serious lesions of veins, joints, skin. Its main effect is to improve blood circulation, therefore, in any pathological process (diabetic angiopathies, trophic ulcers, psoriasis, etc.) the role of the technique is to activate metabolic processes. That is, it is the same tool that cosmetologists always use in various rejuvenation programs.
Carbon dioxide CO2 is a colorless gas, with a sour taste and smell, soluble in water, at temperatures below -78.5ºС it exists in a solid form (known as dry ice), consists of two elements - carbon and oxygen. It is constantly present in the ambient air in an amount of about 0.03%.
Carbon dioxide is formed in chemical reactions and as a result of fuel combustion. It is released by animals and people, cars and airplanes, factories and plants, and absorbed only by plants. Carbon dioxide has an important physiological significance: for example, it participates in the regulation of vascular tone, plays a necessary role in maintaining the pH level in the internal environments of the body. Ecologists consider it the number one enemy of our planet, but cosmetologists do not agree with them. After all, it is the CO2 content in human blood that determines the exchange of oxygen in tissues and its connection with hemoglobin, and maintains a stable acid-base balance (pH).
Carbon dioxide has a stimulating effect on chemosensory cells. Tissue respiration is enhanced, stroke volume and cardiac output increase, coronary dilation occurs, myocardial ischemia decreases, breathing deepens, a stimulating effect on immunogenesis is manifested, reparative processes in the area of inflammation are accelerated, and mental performance increases.
