Atopic dermatitis: principles of cosmetic care

Relevance of the issue. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most urgent problems of scientific and practical dermatology, which is due to the significant spread of this pathology, the tendency to increase the number of cases of atopic dermatitis, and frequent resistance to treatment. Atopic dermatitis can limit the social, psychological and physical activity of patients.

The prevalence of hypertension among children in countries with a high level of economic development is 10–28%, and the share of hypertension in the structure of allergic diseases is 50–75%. In recent decades, a progressive increase in the incidence of hypertension has been observed. Thus, in European countries, the prevalence of hypertension in the population of children born in the 1960s ranged from 1.4 to 3.1%, in children born after 1970, it reached 20.4%. For various reasons, studies of the prevalence of hypertension are imperfect, so it is believed that these indicators are underestimated by 10-20 times.

Terminology. The term "atopic dermatitis" has a number of synonyms: "prurigo Benye", "allergodermatosis", "allergic dermatitis", "neuroderma", "atopic, children's, constitutional eczema", etc. this disease.

Definition. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic allergic disease that develops in people with a genetic predisposition to atopy, has a relapsing course, age-specific clinical manifestations and is characterized by an increased level of total and specific IgE in blood serum.
