Permanent Makeup Correction: Correction or Improvement?
Approach the procedure of permanent makeup must be conscious!

Why do we need a correction if everything was done well the first time? Many permanent makeup masters have often heard this question from their clients. We answer in the article
Why do we need a correction if everything was done well the first time? To what extent is it profitable for the master to "drive" clients to corrections and how should one treat this very correction?
Many clients believe that the correction of permanent makeup is associated solely with the mistakes of the master or poor-quality care. This is far from always the case. Let's start with the fact that there are several indications for correction, and errors are only one of them. Correction can be carried out:
- on a successful permanent to fill voids (primary correction);
- one year after the color renewal procedure (tattoo refresh);
- to fix a bad permanent.
Correction after the first procedure
Let's start with the simplest in technical terms and the most difficult in psychological terms - with the "finishing" of healed lips or eyebrows. Each of us has a unique skin, with its own characteristics. In particular, she resists any intervention, and even if the master does everything right, and the client takes good care of the permanent, part of the area where the tattoo was performed may remain unpainted. Even a very experienced master cannot predict how the client's body will behave in each individual case, how his skin will react. In this case, you can correct something, fill in the voids.
In addition, you can understand how eyebrows suit the client only by “trying on” them. Even after agreeing to the sketch, the client may not always be 100% sure that these are exactly the eyebrows and lips that she wanted to see on her face.
This is especially true in the case when a woman wants to correct the natural asymmetry. Indeed, if the face is initially not symmetrical, if the client's superciliary arches protrude strongly, or there are scars or moles in the area of the intended application of the permanent, this can complicate the work of the master and make the result unpredictable.
I would also like to draw attention to the fact that even a job well done the first time can become much better after adjustment.
Correction by statute of limitations
After a certain time, permanent makeup may become less bright, fade. This is due to the fact that your skin processes foreign pigment and gradually removes it from the body. So there is a need for the renewal of color and form. It is even possible that your client will get bored with the previous drawing and want to change something. Permanent makeup is not eternal and one day it will either disappear, or your client will want to make it brighter, refresh it.
It should be especially noted that for any master, the correction (refresh) of his own work is always easier than someone else's.
Correction of other people's mistakes
Sometimes masters make mistakes. There are many such errors. Therefore, it also happens that permanent makeup needs to be corrected radically. Of course, in this case, more than one procedure may be needed. Remodeling is always harder than starting from scratch.
Master's benefit?
In assessing the need for correction, everything depends both on the master who performs the permanent, and on the attitude of the client towards the correction process.
If the master is in demand, then for him the correction is more an inevitability than a source of income, since most often the cost of the correction is an order of magnitude lower than the cost of the main procedure. Many regular customers enjoy visiting corrections, refreshing the color and adding new touches to their image, without waiting for the colors to fade or the image to become boring. Perceiving permanent makeup as a tool for working with the image, they discover new possibilities for transformation.
Gone are the days when a permanent was done once and for life. Thanks to modern technologies and the growing professionalism of masters, permanent makeup is becoming a unique opportunity for women not only to be and remain beautiful regardless of the time of day or the presence of makeup, but also to change depending on their mood, moving towards their ideal in step with fashion trends.
It is worth accepting as a fact that not everything and not always can be done instantly. Many corrections require two or even three steps, because this is the only way to guarantee the quality of the work.
Correction is a normal procedure, the purpose of which is not only to correct, but also to improve a beautiful permanent, bringing it to the ideal.
