Correction of permanent makeup by another master: when the risks are justified

In what cases can PM correction be (and worth) done by another master

The new master, unlike the one who performed the primary procedure, will work with the client's skin for the first time. He does not know how deep the work was done, how the skin reacted to dyes, why there were imperfections. Therefore, it is important to assess all risks in advance.

In one of the previous articles, we already talked about the correction of the PM - a planned stage of the procedure, without which the tattoo will never be imperfect. Usually, after the initial procedure, clients come to the same master for correction. This is logical, because the client already knows the specialist, and the master, in turn, is familiar with the reaction of the skin of this particular client to the pigment, and can take into account other nuances (for example, the type of dyes).

But what if the first session was difficult, or the result did not suit the client? Then there is a completely justified desire to find another master.

In this article, we will try to figure out in which cases the client should contact another specialist for a second session, and when it is still worth staying with the previous one. And also consider cases in which the master himself should refuse to repeat the procedure with the client.

Why is a correction needed?

So, the repeated procedure (tattoo correction) is prescribed by the PM master, it must be carried out after the complete healing of the tattoo area. Usually, the correction time falls one month after the initial pigment injection.

Why do you need a second session? Since each client has an individual susceptibility to dyes, the skin of different people reacts differently to the introduction of a dye, it is impossible to predict how rich and clear the tattoo will remain. The reaction depends on the type of skin, the rate of metabolic processes, age, the presence of chronic diseases and other factors. An important role in achieving the desired result is played by the fact how strictly the client followed the recommendations of the master during the rehabilitation period, whether he was in open sunlight, whether he damaged the crust.

Therefore, a specialist should see a healed result in a month in order to correct any shortcomings if necessary: correct the contour, add colors or fill in gaps or other defects that appeared during healing (for example, uniformity and uniformity of tone, violated in case of failure to follow the rules for the care of PM).

Even if the tattoo has taken root evenly, during the second procedure, the specialist will make the arrows clearer, the eyebrows more accentuated, and the lips more natural, but at the same time saturated.

Replacement of the master: we correlate doubts and risks

If the client doubts after the procedure whether it is necessary to re-apply to the specialist who performed it, then the master should find out the reasons for the doubts and jointly analyze the result of the primary permanent makeup:

  • does the tattoo differ from the agreed sketch:
  • whether the procedure was very painful;
  • whether any technical errors were made during the course.

You should not look for another master if:

  • there were difficulties at the first procedure, but the master successfully coped with them (for example, the skin “blooded” excessively and the pigment lay unevenly). It was at the primary procedure that the master only studied the features of the skin, since he worked on it for the first time, and in the process he was able to correct the technique, taking into account the nuances. Correction with this master will be faster and easier;
  • the result was not the same as you imagined: the color of the healed tattoo looks paler, and the contour is uncritically shorter or narrower than you wanted. This is easily fixable - just express wishes for correction;
  • the client violated the healing recommendations (for example, accidentally wetted or tore off the crusts). In case of shortcomings associated with improper care, it is better to contact the original master - he will help fix them.

If, after analyzing the primary procedure, the client and the master did not find anything critical and unprofessional in its course, then most likely the client will return for a second procedure to the same master. Indeed, due to the serious risks associated with changing a specialist and which can distort the result of a permanent, it is worth weighing the decision.

The client must be aware that the new master, unlike the current one, will work with his skin for the first time and, accordingly, does not know how deeply the procedure was carried out, is not familiar with the reaction of the skin to dyes, does not know the cause of the defects. A new specialist in another studio may make a mistake with the tone and choose the wrong color; work with other dyes, the composition of which can cause allergies or an unpredictable reaction of the skin. This is fraught with the fact that the appearance after the correction will differ from the primary one, and the client will again be dissatisfied.

When is a master change justified?

If the client not only disagreed with the specialist in opinions, but received after the procedure a contour that goes beyond the lip ridge, asymmetrical arrows or eyebrows located above the natural location, then you should still think about going to another master.

It is recommended to choose another master if:

  • despite all the recommendations, the client developed very thick crusts at the tattoo site during the healing process;
  • spots appeared in the PM area after healing;
  • the color of the tattoo changed, became red, blue, grayish.

View from the other side

If the master is confident in his professionalism and eliminates errors in his work, but the client still does not like how the tattoo looks, this can happen for completely subjective reasons: even after agreeing on the sketch, the client expected to see a completely different result on his face and his expectations were not justified. And no matter how much the master claims otherwise, he will not dispel the doubts of such a client and will not remove the negativity in the relationship. In this case, there is only one advice - “let go” of this client, he is simply “not yours”.
