Permanent makeup is a great way to make your eyebrows look better than they really are. But sometimes it happens that the final result is darker than originally planned. There can be many reasons: the wrong shades are chosen, improper care during and after healing. In any case, you can lighten the tattoo, and we will tell you what recommendations to follow.
When Do You Need Tattoo Lightening?
Very often (especially if the client came to the procedure for the first time), permanent makeup masters immediately after the procedure begin to receive complaints that the result looks darker and brighter than what the client expected. It is important to calm her down and explain that after complete regeneration of the skin, the eyebrows, lips or arrows will become lighter. Therefore, to begin with, the client needs to wait for complete healing, which may take a month or even more.
Sometimes clients deliberately violate the rules of tattoo care so that the pigment “falls out” a little in the process. Please note to the client that this is by no means recommended, since she is at serious risk: in this case, the eyebrows / lips can become seriously inflamed, and the pigment “fall out” extremely unsuccessfully and leave gaps.
A significant reason for the desire of the client to lighten the tattoo can be a change in image. For example, if she dyed her hair in a light shade and now dark eyebrows do not harmonize with her image at all. Of course, in this case, something needs to be done with the eyebrows.
How to lighten a tattoo without unpleasant consequences
On the Internet, you can find various folk methods that "craftsmen" recommend for lightening eyebrows after tattooing: the use of hydrogen peroxide, castor oil, salt procedures, potassium permanganate, iodine. Warn your clients that hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, iodine can cause severe burns and damage capillaries. Treating the surface of the skin with castor oil may be the only safe method of all, but it will take a long time and the effect will be minimal.
Of course, the most effective option is when the tattoo master who performed the procedure will also lighten the healed result. There are several ways that will allow the specialist to lighten the tattoo. The choice of method depends on how serious the changes are required. Lightening by 1-2 tones is easier to do than to radically change the shade, but this is also real.
- Lightening tattoo with body pigment. One of the most widely used methods, in which the master introduces a much lighter shade on top of the existing pigment in order to achieve visual harmony.
- Using a special eyebrow corrector. This method is used by the masters if the client has an undesirable undertone at the eyebrows. The corrector will help neutralize the purple or blue-gray tint.
- Using a special remover . The remover removes pigments of any color, due to the extraction of the pigment from the skin, the saturation also decreases. Using a remover, the master is able to both slightly lighten the tattoo, and more noticeably.
- laser removal. The laser beam breaks down the pigment, which is eventually removed naturally from the skin.
Each of the proposed methods obliges the masters to have certain work experience and undergo special training.
