What does an eyebrow artist need to have to perform the procedure?

First of all, you should have good, expensive tweezers for shape correction. It is advisable to have several pieces in order to have time to process them before each client. I prefer black Tweezerman tweezers - these are my favorites, I have 7-8 of them. You will also need a pencil for drawing the shape, a dye, a brush for tinting the eyebrows, a remover and a degreaser. Don't forget about gloves and disinfectant for hands and tools. In principle, such a set is sufficient.

How to choose the right paint?

The dye is selected by the master according to many criteria: there are gel and cream dyes, dyes that work with different oxidizing agents, and the color and intensity of the paint depends on this. You will be helped to understand all this in the basic course for eyebrow artists.

There are masters who love henna very much and achieve amazing results with it - eyebrows look very beautiful and natural. But it is important that the henna is natural and without any harmful additives. I know of only two certified and high-quality brands of henna, and, accordingly, their prices are high. Very often, our specialists use a cheap mixture called henna and do not even realize that they can greatly harm the client with it: from allergies to cancer.

How to choose the perfect shade?

To be able to choose the perfect shade, you need to know color schemes. The Itten color circle helps a lot. Brown has 195 shades, which can be achieved by mixing different colors. Each artist has his own favorite proportions, so I am surprised when I am asked to share my proportions to obtain a particular color.

When choosing a shade, you should pay attention to the color of your skin: does it have more warm or cool pigment? The final color of the paint on the skin will depend on this. We also look at the natural hair color, which is determined by the content of two pigments - eumelanin (gray-brown pigment) and pheomelanin (warm, red-yellow pigment).

If a large amount of melanin is synthesized, the reddish shades of pheomelanin are almost invisible - in this case the person has dark hair. If there is little melanin, but there is pheomelanin, then the hair, on the contrary, acquires reddish shades. If there is little melanin and no pheomelanin at all, the hair has light gray and light ash tones. I also always pay attention to the intensity of the client’s makeup and always clarify what final result he expects to see.

What is the step-by-step process of tinting eyebrows? What is important to pay attention to?

  • Before tinting eyebrows, the client must disinfect gloves (even if they are disposable) and tools. After this, you should scrub the skin in the eyebrow area or use a special eyebrow shampoo: this extends the wear time of the paint and helps make the coloring even.
  • Degrease the skin. If the skin is oily, the paint simply will not apply.
  • Draw the shape with a pencil. Use only a powder pencil: a pencil with a greasy texture will not allow paint to stick to the skin.
  • Mix the paint with the oxidizing agent.
  • Apply the dye tightly to the entire eyebrow. We make sure that the lines are straight and without holes.
  • Let the paint sit for 5 to 15 minutes.
  • We wash off the paint with plain water. There are several ways. 1. You can wash off one eyebrow first, then shade the beginning and make a smooth transition. 2. You can wash off one by one: the beginning of the eyebrow, a little later the body of the eyebrow and at the very end its end.
  • Next, we correct the shape of the eyebrows . I prefer to do the correction before dyeing so that the dye applies more evenly.
  • Apply concealer under the eyebrow and comb the hairs with gel.

The eyebrows are ready!

What mistakes do newbie eyebrow artists most often make when tinting their eyebrows?

There are several errors that immediately catch your eye.

Eyebrows are colored with equal intensity along their entire length. These are dark eyebrows with an unshaded beginning - the person immediately becomes very menacing and angry. Incorrect construction of the form (the tail is missing or the end is blocked, which immediately makes the look sad).

Eyebrows don't suit the client . For example, a girl with neat facial features asked to have wide dark eyebrows, as is fashionable now. As a result, it looks very funny and scary. The master’s task in this situation is to convey to the client that this will not suit him. And offer different options that may be close to what the client originally asked for.

Wrong shade chosen . A cold color type (for example, a fair-haired girl with gray or blue eyes) was given eyebrows with a hint of red.

Uneven distribution of dye . The skin was not scrubbed and the dye came out in chunks.
