Sagittal parting is the division of the entire scalp into two equal parts. The name of the parting is derived from the definition of “sagittal plane” - an imaginary vertical plane that runs from front to back and divides the object into mirror-symmetrical left and right halves.
This division allows the hairdresser to accurately determine the balance of the haircut shape.
If the client has a displaced parting, then the sagittal parting will be determined from it. But the parting will shift only in the parietal zone, aligning to the center of the head to the point of decay, and in the occipital zone it will pass through the center of the back of the head.
Since it is important to take into account the natural flow of the client's hair, it is necessary to start from an offset parting, while the occipital area requires an equal division into two parts to determine the balance.
