Radical or non-radical change of image?
To each his own
Changing your image is a decision that every girl makes differently: some have been thinking about red hair for a long time, while others are only ready to change their hairstyle.
“Changes are useful and important, because they are a sign that we are moving forward,” says Lydia Makarenko , art director of Yuriy Tsarov Beauty Group.
Internal changes entail changes in appearance: often this path begins with hairstyle. That is why hairdressers have a huge responsibility and mission as creators. I often see how even the most conservative guest’s eyes light up after the suggestion: “Perhaps you would like to add something new to your image?” The question immediately follows: “What can you offer? What's right for me?
There are about as many answers to this question as there are stylists in the world. Each master performs his work through the prism of internal perception of beauty, and the most important thing is that the client, in the end, looking in the mirror at a renewed self, sees a reflection of his own feelings and desires, realized by the hand of the hairdresser.
I would divide the two transformations presented into two types: a change of image with a wow effect and a non-radical upgrade of the image.
Wow-effect
In this case, it is the drive that both parties receive—the author of the image and the client. Forming the “character” of an image, finding a way to express this character and technical implementation are stages of an exciting process for a hairdresser who is in love with his work and a pleasant excitement in anticipation of a new self from the client.
The way to achieve the “wow” effect is most often by radically changing the color or length of your hair. But when developing a strategy for changing one of these image components, it is important to know: color and shape cannot exist separately from each other.
We can see a vivid example of the wow effect in the transformation, the original color of which is 5.0. The task was to create a bright, memorable and sexy image. During the conversation, I learned that the heroine had long wanted to become a redhead, but she had concerns that she would have to often go to the salon to touch up her roots, to maintain the richness and radiance of the shade, because bright shades wash off faster than others. I also wanted to preserve the quality of the hair when leaving the color.
To realize our idea, it was necessary to make the color lighter by two levels (from 5th to 7th). We achieved this with the help of lightening powder and used a special complex that preserves hair quality. The next step was to create a new color with a natural indentation at the root, which, as it grows out, makes it possible to smooth out the difference between the colored and natural base. But here it is important to maintain the conditions for adding 15% base 5.0 to the main shade. One of the possible options was a golden-copper shade. It does not distort the skin color and looks more natural than rich copper.
But I wanted to add some spice to my haircut. Red tones look most advantageous on long hair, so we left the length, but decided to play with the dynamics of the bangs: brazen, torn and seemingly grown out a little. She helped the color draw attention to the heroine’s magical gaze. The contour of the haircut in the “shaggy” style (ed. “from English - shaggy / shaggy) completed our look.
The result brought joy to all participants in the process, because it corresponded to the internal and external requests of the heroine.
But do the changes mean getting on such a thrill ride for everyone? Maybe there are people for whom it is enough to change a couple of nuances in order to see themselves differently and broadcast a different emotion. It is very important to recognize this.
Upgrade
Using the example of the second reincarnation, we can see how the heroine’s face and look have changed. The “highlight of the program” in this case is the haircut, since the request expressed a desire to make the image lighter and more cheerful , without radically changing the length or shade.
The haircut acquired this character thanks to the graduation in the parietal zone and the dense “shaggy” contour, slightly raised above shoulder level to avoid visible refraction of the bob line.
We did not change the shade, slightly deepening the root (which, according to the natural location of the color, should be half a tone darker than the entire length), filled the length with shine and increased the density of the hair using Moran professional henna.
After changing the haircut, it is important to adjust the styling strategy: now the hair is more voluminous, easy to curl, and these factors make it possible to experiment with texture.
Giving joy is a guide to action, thanks to which the heroine smiles, and a breeze of lightness and enthusiasm burst into her classic, restrained style.
Remember, the wind of change is not always a hurricane. Give joy and increase it!
