How popular is bronzing in 2020?

Fashionable summer makeup 2020 starts with a flawless complexion. Thick foundations and the mask effect are a thing of the past: mask skin imperfections with correctors and concealers, and even out your tone using foundations with moisturizing ingredients. BB and CC formulas are relevant for all skin types, because hydration is the basis.

Today we will talk specifically about corrective makeup products, and these will be everyone’s favorite bronzers! Fashion changes, but almost all girls still want visually thin cheeks. And even though in 2020 the shades of bronzer have changed to more delicate ones, it is an integral part of makeup!

How to choose a bronzer by shade?

A suitable bronzer, like a contouring product, should be 2-3 shades darker than your natural skin color. But the difficulty in choosing a product lies in determining the appropriate undertone.

For fair-skinned girls with neutral undertones, it's best to stick to a yellow palette (not orange!). These are shades of milk chocolate, light brown and bronze-gold. They will look as natural as possible on the skin, giving it a beautiful tanned look.

Girls with pale skin with a pink undertone, as in the previous case, should also stick to cool colors. But for snow-whites with yellow undertones, there is no need to emphasize their pallor. It is better to opt for warmer colors - from bronze to bronze-peach, but in no case orange or brick: there is no tan of this color in nature.

Dark-skinned girls are very lucky, as all shades of the product suit them without exception. Even bronzers with a clear reddish tint will look good on the skin. Girls with olive undertones should not emphasize the yellowness of their skin, so you should only pay attention to warm tones of bronzers - terracotta brown or dark chocolate shade.

What should you pay attention to when working with bronzer on different skin types?

Bronzers can be found in the form of powder, liquid texture, gel, spray or cream. Which product format to use depends on your client's skin type.

For girls with oily skin, a powder bronzer is best. It will allow you to achieve an even and, most importantly, matte skin tone.

For dry skin, of course, cream textures are best suited. They will provide additional hydration to the skin and protect it from drying out.

Personally, I do not recommend using bronzer on aging skin, as it is less smooth and shows creases and wrinkles, which you only risk emphasizing with bronzer. You should also be careful when working with skin with freckles - in this case, facial makeup should be very delicate!

What areas are treated by the product?

Bronzer performs both a corrective function and provides a tanning effect, so it can be distributed in several ways. However, there is a universal method that will suit everyone. Apply the product to the areas that tan the fastest. Brush over cheekbones, tip of nose, forehead and chin. Movements should be light. And don’t put too much product on your brush—it’s easy to overdo it with bronzer.

How to apply bronzer correctly and what tools to use?

Apply bronzer, if it has a dry texture, after powder - this will allow you to distribute the product easily and evenly!

To achieve the effect of a beautiful golden tan, apply bronzing powder using a wide, fluffy, rounded brush.

When choosing a tool, first of all, pay attention to the pile. Natural bristles allow you to get a light coverage because they partially absorb the product and gradually release it. Brushes made of synthetic bristles do not retain the powdery texture and transfer it almost entirely to the skin, so the makeup turns out to be more intense and it may be difficult to blend.

Secondly, look at the size. Small and dense brushes do not do a good job of distributing products evenly. Therefore, it is important to apply bronzer with a large and fluffy brush. This guarantees a natural result, namely a light, beautiful tan on the skin.
