Always in trend: how to create nude makeup?

Nude makeup is ideal for any occasion and event, because it is universal and always appropriate. And although it is almost invisible, to create nude makeup, a makeup artist needs a whole arsenal of cosmetics in pastel shades. Together with makeup artist Lesya Dyakonova, we decided to figure out how to do nude makeup correctly, what products to use, how and with what to apply them to get a luxurious result!

What are the main rules of nude makeup?

Nude makeup is, first of all, a clean, transparent make-up, giving a feeling of lightness, “no makeup”. Makeup that will not radically change your facial features, but will add 100% expressiveness and attractiveness!

What should be your facial makeup? What products do you recommend using to create it?

For nude makeup, skin preparation is very important. Start by cleansing your skin with micellar water, then apply a moisturizer under your eyes and a makeup base , which will even out your skin texture and add freshness. The skin should look perfect, but the tinting agent should not be noticeable - for this we use light fluids with reflective particles. For application it is best to use a damp beauty blender. A natural glow for a beauty effect can be achieved by adding a creamy highlighter to match the tone, then apply this mix all over the face.

Under the eyes you need to apply a translucent, invisible concealer with good coverage. Choose soft peach-pink shades for blush for fair-skinned girls; If the model or client has dark skin, you can use a bronzer. Give preference to cream blush or dry products with added highlighter. Red-haired beauties can complement their makeup beautifully and naturally with hand-painted freckles or hair spray.

How to highlight your eyes when creating natural makeup ?

I advise you to create eye makeup using cream shadows in pastel shades, close to the skin color, and cream highlighters with a natural golden glow. The shape of the makeup emphasizes the natural volume of the eyelid. It is important to try to create a monochrome makeup without darkening the corners. If necessary, clarity can be given to the look using an interlash line or/and a brown eye line with good shading. The presence of a ciliary arrow depends on the shape of the moving eyelid. If the eyelid is small, then most likely it should not be “covered” even more with an arrow. We shape the eyebrows using a transparent fixative gel, then fill in the missing hairs with a light micro-pencil. It is important to add glow to the corners of the eyes using a pearl-colored cream highlighter.

What lip products should you prefer?

Before creating make-up, you need to apply a moisturizing balm or lip cream. It is possible to create at least three lip makeup options.

• Matte natural finish. We enhance the pink-peach (natural) color of the lips with the help of matte pigments or blush; the minimal effect of “kissed” lips created with the help of pigments is also appropriate.
• Dewy natural finish. We create it using balm or transparent gloss (beige, pink, brick, carrot shades). You can complement the dewy effect with cream highlighters.
• Matte finish is more durable. We use matte lipsticks in natural shades, blend them very well so that only the color is noticeable, not the texture of the lipstick.

What is the difference between evening and daytime nude makeup?

Unlike daytime makeup, in nude style evening makeup you can focus on the lips and use, for example, matte (with an invisible texture) red-coral, dark brick, carrot shades of lipsticks, while leaving the so-called “naked” eye makeup. The second option is neutral lips, and add volume to the eyes with beige-terracotta shades of shadows or a thin liner.

What mistakes are important to avoid when creating such natural makeup?

Main mistakes: clarity of lines, graphic and dense textures in makeup, the presence of a large amount of black mascara. Also, multi-color is an unnecessary element - it is better to use one or two colors for makeup of lips, eyes and correction of the oval of the face. If you want to wear red lipstick for evening makeup, add a little scarlet tint to the shadows. Nude makeup, despite its simplicity at first glance, requires great care and thoughtfulness.
