Volumetric facial modeling: upper third correction

In the last few years, we have observed significant changes in the strategy and tactics of correcting involutional facial changes. The so-called two-dimensional model, which involves correcting wrinkles, folds, and removing excess skin, has been replaced by a three-dimensional model that considers aging processes not in a plane, but in volume.
The evolution of materials for injectable facial plastic surgery and the improvement of their implementation techniques have made it possible to perform volumetric facial modeling in a conservative manner.
Deep (supraperiosteal) administration of stabilized hyaluronic acid preparations is possible not only with a needle, but also with an atraumatic cannula, which is currently the safest and most modern method of volumetric correction of such areas as the zygomatic, temporal, infraorbital, buccal, and the edges of the lower jaw.
However, techniques involving intradermal and subcutaneous administration of preparations have not lost their relevance.
