Lower third of the face: volume modeling

New methods of surgical and conservative correction now involve redistribution, strengthening of facial soft tissues, and increasing volume in areas where it is lost with age.
Injection correction of the chin is performed when insufficient volume is detected, which may be congenital or a consequence of post-traumatic deformation. Previously, chin volume augmentation/enhancement was performed only surgically using silicone implants, while postoperative edema, hematomas, and prolonged pain were significant problems for the patient.
Before the injection correction procedure, the injection area is marked: the midline of the face, the horizontal chin line, the chin augmentation zone, as well as the needle insertion site for infiltration anesthesia are marked.
The formation and deepening of the nasolabial fold is associated not so much with skin atony, a decrease in its turgor and elasticity, but with atrophy/hypertrophy and displacement of the soft tissues of the cheek. Therefore, in many cases, the correction of this fold is not reduced to simple filling, but requires an increase in volume and reinforcement (stabilization) of the surrounding area.
