In recent years, modern cosmetology has taken a step far and surprisingly quickly. But are all the components of this large industry keeping up with such rapid changes?
Fifteen or twenty years ago, cosmetology did not stand out against the background of household aesthetic services, such as manicures or haircuts. The main direction of cosmetic procedures was rather preventive. Any serious problems of an aesthetic nature were not even considered from the point of view of making efforts for a specialist.
"Medical" methods included liquid nitrogen cryotherapy and the use of sulsene paste. To rejuvenate the face and neck, cosmetologists practiced almost exclusively massage methods, many of which were traditionally not too physiological.
In order to at least reduce the expressiveness of facial and gravity wrinkles, there were actually no funds at all, and there was no need to even talk about getting rid of them completely. Hair loss was a drama with no resolution. On the other hand, women who suffered from hirsutism went for regular painful procedures, which were often accompanied by complications in the form of burns and scars after electroepilation, the development of couperosis after waxing, and an increase in the severity of the problem when using traditional methods.
