Physiotherapy methods of recovery after plastic surgery
The main tasks of rehabilitation
Surgical intervention and restorative treatment are two important stages on the way to achieving the desired result during plastic surgery in aesthetic medicine. Physiotherapy plays an important role in rehabilitation after plastic surgery.
The program of physiotherapeutic methods of treatment is based on the knowledge of pathophysiological processes underlying the regenerative process in the postoperative period. The main directions of the recovery period:
- acceleration of elimination of swelling of operated tissues in the phase of primary vascular changes;
- activation of immunity in the wound area; reducing the likelihood of inflammation;
- prevention of fibrosis and hyalinosis of forming scars in the granulation phase;
- decrease in the vascularization of the forming scar tissue in the phase of scar reorganization;
- shortening of the recovery period of the skin structure and the period of incapacity;
- increasing the protective functions of the nervous system.
Thus, the main tasks of the early postoperative period are the restoration of normal blood and lymph circulation, the formation of a new system of "collateral" blood circulation, restoration of sensitivity, optimization of protective functions, activation of cellular immunity.
Lymphatic drainage methods are basic and can be used already at the early stages of rehabilitation. They contribute to the faster regression of swellings and hematomas, the removal of toxins and decay products due to the acceleration of lymph flow and the elimination of excess intercellular fluid, they activate metabolic processes necessary for full rehabilitation. Lymphatic drainage is recommended after blepharoplasty, retidectomy, SMAS, endoscopic lifting, platysmoplasty, mammoplasty, liposuction.
Let's consider the main physiotherapeutic methods of rehabilitation.
