Modern cell technologies are one of the most promising areas of aesthetic medicine. The scientific justification for their use has been numerous discoveries made by scientists over the past two decades. Here is a brief summary of these discoveries.
In the dermal papillae of adult hair follicles, a population of stem cells has been found that participate in the restoration of the skin after its damage. In terms of their ability to differentiate, these stem cells do not differ from mesenchymal cells of the bone marrow. Stem cells have also been found in other areas of the dermis (terminal bulb, endothelium of blood vessels, etc.).
