Neck and décolleté skin: condition assessment
How to preserve the youth of the delicate area
The task of a dermatocosmetologist is to draw the patient's attention to delicate areas, especially the skin of the neck and décolleté, take photos and videos in motion and show the difference.
Anatomical features
The skin of the neck and décolleté is quite thin, its elasticity is much less than that of the skin of other parts of the body. Due to the thickness of the dermis and the smaller number of connective tissue elements, the fibers are less stretchy and the epidermis is thinner. This zone is also characterized by a relatively thin stratum corneum and a small number of cell rows in the spinous layer of the epidermis. This leads to reduced barrier properties of the skin and increased sensitivity to various external stimuli: weather factors, external care products, peelings, mechanical factors.
What affects the cleavage area?
Due to its structure and openness to insolation, the skin in the décolletage area reacts very quickly and strongly to ultraviolet radiation. In the absence of properly selected protection, thin, delicate skin becomes dehydrated and thins. Photodamage is the main process that leads to negative consequences: hyperpigmentation, loss of elasticity, dyschromia, fine wrinkling, solar lentigo, the appearance of pigmented nevi, keratomas, telangiectasias, photodermatoses and many other skin defects.
Aggressive weather factors also have an effect.
