Metabolic effect: hormones that affect weight
Factors that affect our body weight

Very often, our patients ask the question: "Why do I eat almost nothing, but I don't lose weight, while others eat for two and stay slim?". The answer to this question can be the process of metabolism, which will be discussed further, since body weight is regulated by various processes controlled by hormones.
Hormonal signals are powerful determinants of which nourishment our metabolic engine will choose for itself: sugar or fat. So hormones control not only the intake and consumption of calories. There is an optimal state of hormonal balance, which increases the processing of fat deposits in the body, the so-called metabolic effect.
In recent years, scientific interests have been focused on the study of biochemical mechanisms of regulation of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism during various types of physical exertion, regulation of metabolism of skeletal muscles and adipose tissue at the level of hormone reception and their metabolic effect, non-enzymatic glycation of proteins. It has been proven that, in addition to carbohydrates, lipid sources of both skeletal muscles and adipose tissue play an important role in the energy supply of aerobic muscle activity.
