Hyperhidrosis: what you need to know about the disease
Methods of assessing the intensity of sweating

Today, local and generalized forms of hyperhidrosis are distinguished. Assessment of the severity of sweating and the duration of the clinical effect is carried out on the basis of objective (Minor's test, ninhydrin test, gravimetry, etc.) and subjective (analog scale) methods.
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by increased sweating that exceeds the body's normal needs, sufficient to maintain body temperature. Excessive sweating can significantly affect a person's emotional sphere, reducing the quality of life and often causing the formation of a "social brand" in such patients.
Emotional stimulation is also recognized as a dominant activating factor in patients with axillary and palmar hyperhidrosis. At the same time, hypothalamic hyperhidrosis has been postulated to be caused by temperature effects such as exercise, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders.
The vast majority of researchers noted increased sweating in their subjects mainly during the day, which corresponds to the main criteria of primary local hyperhidrosis. Researchers agree that idiopathic local hyperhidrosis is local excess visualized sweating lasting more than 6 months, which appears for no apparent reason and is characterized by two or more signs.
