Hand care: what the EM doctor can advise the patient
Recommendations that work
Adequate care and timely correction of the aging of the skin of the hands will keep this delicate area young for a long time, and even an experienced eye will not always be able to accurately determine their biological age.
The lipid layer of the skin of the hands is quite thin, it is 4-5 times thinner than the lipid layer of the skin of the face and body, the epidermis contains almost no sebaceous glands. As a result, moisture is retained in the intercellular space worse, the skin looks thinner, it becomes dry faster under the influence of water and household chemicals that have to be used every day, so small wrinkles begin to appear on the hands.
Regular hand care preserves their beauty for many years, preventing signs of aging such as dryness, roughness, discoloration and fine wrinkles from appearing. Caring for this part of the body primarily involves constant protection of the skin during housework - especially if it involves the use of aggressive detergents. Hands also suffer from very cold (the skin becomes rough and red) or very hot water (leads to dryness and peeling).
This also applies to the cold season, when hands should be protected with warm gloves. At the age of 45-60, external signs of aging of the skin of the hands progress - pigment spots, wrinkling of the skin of the fingers (especially over the joints), curvature of the joints, contouring and nodulation of veins, roughening of the skin, etc.
