Let's talk about detoxification (cleansing the body of toxic substances of exogenous and endogenous origin) from the perspective of clinical nutrition and physiology. Let's try to explain the mechanisms of toxin biotransformation to help aesthetic medicine doctors create well-reasoned detox protocols.

Exogenous toxins come from outside, endogenous ones are formed in the body itself. Let's understand the physicochemical properties of toxins to properly build detoxifying spa programs.

Exogenous intoxication

Environmental pollution is an acute problem of the modern world. Emissions from industrial enterprises, exhaust gases from cars, as well as economic, professional and personal activities of a person lead to pollution of air, water, soil with numerous toxic substances that enter our body every day.

The source of the most dangerous toxic substances is the air of city streets, saturated with dust and smoke. Dust is finely dispersed soil particles suspended in the air, formed as a result of weathering. Such particles themselves are not allergens, but they adsorb toxic substances on their surface - for example, lead, which is formed during the combustion of leaded gasoline and, together with exhaust gases, settles on the surface of the soil, or reagents that were sprinkled on snow in winter. In the spring, after the snow melts and before the grass appears, the soil is easily weathered, as a result of which a lot of toxic substances accumulated on the surface of the earth rise into the air.
