Anatomy of connective tissue: the secret becomes obvious

Zones of increased hormonal activity

What processes in general take place in the adipose tissue of the human body? Why do fiber and connective tissue change noticeably during life? What is the accumulation of fat in certain areas of the body? Let's talk about "local fat" and about "problem areas".

The distinctive qualities of subcutaneous adipose tissue determine the appearance of certain features, which in recent years we call aesthetic defects. In women of childbearing age, regular and cyclical hormonal changes occur in the body, during which subcutaneous adipose tissue is also involved. In some areas of the female body, fiber has greater hormonal activity. Most often, these zones are located in the thigh area, the lower and middle part of the buttocks, the lower half of the abdomen and the knee area.

It is there that the most active synthesis of estrone takes place through the aromatization and transformation of male hormones, androgens, which are produced in the female body by the tissues of the ovarian theca and adrenal cortex. The process of aromatization of androgens occurs with some side effects, such as an increase in the permeability of lymphatic and venous capillaries, a gradual change in the synthesis of structural fibers, and a decrease in the sensitivity of fat cell receptors responsible for the processes of lipolysis.

Thus, gradually in the zones where the synthesis of estrone occurs, there is a pastiness, which turns into swelling of the subcutaneous fatty tissue. In these areas, the processes of fat splitting slow down, fiber begins to react more slowly to stimulation. Over time, the connective tissue in these zones becomes denser, which leads to the appearance of a specific "granularity".
