Who are you, a real master of permanent makeup?

Why do some masters become experts, while others are "out of place"? Let's dwell on the innate and professional qualities of the direct performer of permanent makeup

Having analyzed the causes of conflicts between permanent makeup masters and their clients, I would like to dwell on the innate and professional qualities of the direct permanent makeup artist. For some reason, I often have to explain the seemingly obvious. Permanent make-up is, first of all, both by definition and by its purpose – make-up. And who should and has the moral right to do makeup? Of course, the makeup artist.

If permanent make-up, just like regular make-up, was performed only by make-up artists, then we would have several times fewer reasons to write this article. It is not necessary to engage in a deep analysis of the root causes of conflict situations in order to see with your own eyes that almost all cases of dissatisfaction of clients with permanent makeup are associated with gross mistakes of the makeup artist. In fairness, we note that in order to make aesthetically beautiful permanent makeup both in shape and in color, it is not necessary to have the profession of a makeup artist. To do this, you do not need, for example, to know how to apply makeup correctly, but you must have a natural gift to see the harmony of lines and colors on your face. Drawing a sketch of eyebrows on a real, and not a hypothetical face from a makeup tutorial, requires a special gift and practice. All makeup artists have similar practices and abilities.

Perhaps it would be useful for the organizers of training courses on PM to conduct an interview with him before deciding on the advisability of training the next candidate? During the interview, it is easy to identify the motivations of candidates. A large percentage of those expressing a desire to study are cosmetologists who passionately want to earn money, striving to complete more various courses. The real masters of permanent make-up are almost always narrow specialists or almost such.

Let's talk about professional standards

Are there standards for organizing and conducting permanent makeup procedures? Yes, and in accordance with them, a well-conducted consultation and legally thought-out documentation of procedures implies:

  • Sufficiently detailed informing the client about the nature and method of the procedures;
  • explaining the typical risks associated with the procedure and warning about possible complications during and after the procedure;
  • filling in the information sheet with medical data by the client;
  • warning about the need to perform additional procedures required for better quality and longer durability of permanent makeup.
  • clarification by the master what is the image of the result of permanent makeup in the mind of the client and his exact motivation.
  • drawing a sketch and its conscious approval by the client;
  • completion of the procedure report;
  • issuance of written recommendations for skin care and their discussion with the client;
  • providing the client with the opportunity for prompt communication with the master by phone, in case of an urgent need for consultation;
  • agreeing with the client an approximate date for an additional procedure;
  • all the most important information brought to the client is sealed with his signature;
  • as a result, the master receives the informed consent of the client to carry out the procedure;
  • at the end of the procedure, the client necessarily receives a memo, which, among other things, records all skin pigmentation procedures performed at this enterprise.

Permanent makeup is a serious business, and not just an additional service in a salon or clinic. Where this is not understood, sooner or later there will be problems and conflicts with customers.
