Sometimes, when working on the perioral area, one cannot limit oneself to choosing only one cosmetology method in order to solve the problem of slight asymmetry, lack of volume or color. In the article we will discuss how to properly combine permanent makeup and lip correction with fillers.

To make lips as expressive as possible, it is often recommended to combine two procedures: lip correction with fillers and permanent makeup. The question arises: in what order to carry out these procedures?

The combination of cosmetic procedures is most often resorted to by clients who either want to enlarge very thin lips or get rid of strong asymmetry . Experts agree that the procedures can be combined, but it must be done correctly and in a certain sequence.

We combine correctly

Most PM masters recommend tattooing as the first procedure, and after complete restoration of the skin, do lip augmentation. There is a perfectly logical explanation for this.

Considering that hyaluronic acid, which is part of fillers, can prevent the pigment from evenly distributing in the skin, and the pigment takes root worse in convex areas, it becomes clear that it is better to do the PM procedure first, and then filler correction. It is in this order that professionals recommend working with the lip area. In addition, the regeneration of the skin after permanent makeup is faster on natural tissues.

Contour correction with HA preparations is best done when there is already a lip contour updated with permanent makeup.

Tattoo before lip augmentation virtually eliminates the appearance of asymmetry. Procedures carried out in the reverse order can lead to such an undesirable phenomenon as asymmetry, which will be all the more pronounced, the more fillers the cosmetologist injected into the lips. This negative effect may increase after 5-6 months, when hyaluronic acid in the tissues begins to biodegrade.

Having chosen just such a sequence: PM - lip correction with fillers, masters must remember several important points.

PM masters should take into account that the pigment will become a little lighter when the filler subsequently stretches the skin of the lips. Therefore, when performing PM of the lips to clients who are planning a correction procedure with fillers in the future, it is better to choose the color of the pigment a little more saturated.

When working in the "watercolor" technique after lip augmentation, it is likely that the contours of the lips will change, and correction of the PM will be required.

In the case of botulinum therapy in the lip area, the same algorithm applies - first PM, then BTA injections.

When is a tattoo enough?

But permanent makeup can be a self-sufficient procedure that does not require additional "help" and cosmetic intervention in the perioral zone . In what cases can you avoid beauty injections and achieve the desired result only with permanent makeup?

Here are some examples:

  • the existing volume of the lips is completely satisfied or you want to give your lips quite a bit of plumpness;
  • there is a slight unevenness in the proportions of the lips, but it can be visually hidden with the help of PM;
  • it is necessary to refresh the natural color of the lips or give the lips a certain shade.
