Important aspects of permanent makeup

Let's talk about what makes up the permanent makeup procedure and what are the components of a specialist's success at each stage.

Permanent makeup is an opportunity to look good under any circumstances with minimal effort and time. However, micropigmentation as a mechanical process takes, as a rule, only half of the time spent on the procedure. What is the permanent makeup procedure? What are the components of a specialist's success at each stage?

Pre-procedure consultation

A preliminary consultation before the procedure is a mandatory and important stage of micropigmentation. True, many masters and beauty salons do not pay enough attention to this moment. In the pre-procedure conversation, the client should receive answers to all questions, including a description of the procedure process and information about what to do and what not to do before and after the micropigmentation session. All this information should be easily accessible and understandable for the client, regardless of the level of his education.

A good specialist will not hide his diplomas and certificates confirming that he has received a serious education and has undergone additional training. He will also provide the client with the opportunity to view photos of his work (before and after the procedures), thereby demonstrating his style, skill level and practical experience. In addition, photographs, as a rule, help the client to quickly decide on the best option for the planned permanent make-up.

The main goal of the pre-procedural conversation is to try to find out as much as possible what the client wants. The master is given the opportunity to help in the selection or make alternative suggestions. Practice shows that all clients, without exception, react positively to professionally made proposals for correcting the shape and color, if they trust the master.

Before the procedure, it is necessary to draw up a so-called "agreement" between the client and the master, in which such moments of the client's health status as the presence of allergies, diabetes, the absence of certain diseases - homeophilia, hepatitis, AIDS, as well as information that the client does not have chemotherapy, that the client is not pregnant, does not take blood-thinning drugs, etc. The agreement must specify what processes will take place in the pigmentation zone after the procedure, what permanent makeup will look like in a day, 3-4 weeks. The address and full name of the client, the name of the procedure and its cost, the series and numbers of dyes used - all these important details must be recorded in writing.

Very often, novice masters have problems with the presentation of justified claims by clients in the absence of a written agreement. Photos "before and after", and even better - an additional intermediate photo with a sketch of the contour of future pigmentation applied in pencil, will help to avoid possible undesirable complications in communicating with the client. An experienced and responsible master, who in this way insures both himself and the client, will never have psychological problems.

preliminary sketch

It is very important that before the start of pigmentation, a preliminary sketch of the future permanent makeup is ideally made. Lack of mastery of makeup can result in asymmetry, especially noticeable in the eyebrows and lips. Of course, all this can be corrected, but it is better to correct before the procedure than after it. A good eye for a permanent makeup master is a wonderful gift of nature, however, control of the main geometry lines of the client's face is always necessary.

Depending on the type of face and the desires of the client, with the help of correctly performed permanent makeup, much can be achieved without plastic surgery. Narrow and thin lips can be optically enlarged, symmetry restored; relatively small by nature eyes can be made more expressive. The eyebrow area gives the master the greatest scope for variations in the formation of a new image. Depending on the location of the eyes (close, normal or wide apart), a professionally sculpted new brow shape will create a completely new type of face, which, as a rule, is accepted with enthusiasm by clients.

One of the most common mistakes of masters at this stage is saving time when applying and adjusting the preliminary contour, lack of control over the height of the beginning and ends of the eyebrows, making the eyebrow arch according to templates, insufficient attention to the individual features of the client's face.

We take into account the type of skin

The choice of pigment depending on the client's skin type (warm or cold) is the main problem of many, and not only novice masters. The right pigment will not leave a chance for the "transformation" of color. Red eyebrows and blue lips are the most common mistakes that are a clear sign of the master's lack of knowledge in color. Typically, this result appears when black pigment is added to the main color - an inexperienced master tries to give a darker shade to the final color in this way, hoping to complete the procedure faster. Another inexperienced artist, trying to correct the above result, will take Skin (flesh color dye) and try to camouflage the "blue" micropigmentation. A specialist with minimal knowledge in coloring will never work with Skin dye over large areas - in this case, the procedure for neutralizing (or even completely removing) the color is indispensable.

Determining the type of skin and selecting the appropriate pigment should not be left to chance and intuition - a master needs a thorough knowledge in this area like air. A decisive influence on the formation of an individual skin tone (cold or warm type) has a balance of natural components - melanin (brown), carotene (yellow) and hemoglobin (red). In this case, it is necessary to take into account the features of light refraction of the upper layers of the skin and their optical perception by the human eye. To identify the client's skin type, stylists and colorists work with approximately 150 handkerchiefs of different colors. Some companies have developed a special compact test kit that greatly simplifies the process of choosing a pigment.

Hygiene and disinfection

Since micropigmentation is carried out over unprotected skin over a sufficiently long period of time, the hygienic aspect of the procedure is a very important part of high-quality permanent makeup.

Here are the minimum requirements for a workplace that will help prevent the possibility of contamination or infection with various diseases:

  • all equipment, surfaces and objects in the workplace must be disinfected with special preparations that exclude the possibility of infection with AIDS and hepatitis;
  • it is necessary to use only disposable gloves, dispose of them immediately after the procedure;
  • it is necessary to use only disposable cups for pigments;
  • it is necessary to use only disposable needles, dispose of them immediately after the procedure in containers intended for this purpose, in no case should they be thrown into containers with household waste;
  • all objects and surfaces that the master touched with gloves during the procedure are subject to mandatory disinfection;
  • before putting on gloves, the master must apply a disinfectant to his hands;
  • all sterile packed consumables must be opened in front of the client;
  • cotton pads, sticks, etc. disposed of immediately after their use;
  • gauze bandage (respirator) for the master is not required, but desirable;
  • towels, bedspreads, etc. must be washed at 90 degrees;
  • floor carpets should not be used in the equipment of the cabinet;
  • hardware furniture should be thoroughly disinfected;
  • the presence of indoor plants in the treatment room should be avoided (the earth is an ideal breeding ground for fungi and bacteria).

A neat and well-organized workplace of a craftsman can say a lot about his qualifications and style of work, as well as help the client feel trust in the craftsman.

Very often you can see that the masters are trying to save in an unnecessary direction. Even at exhibitions and other presentation events, work is carried out either without gloves, or after the procedure, gloves are not thrown away and are used when working with the next client. The master does not think about the fact that these gloves were in contact with the unprotected skin of the previous client, and what infections can be transmitted to the next through touching the skin of the latter. Often, unfortunately, there are even more irresponsible acts. Some masters do not dispose of the needles immediately after use and use them again for correction. It can be stated with 100% certainty that in such a situation, the progressive multiplication of bacteria in 3–4 weeks (the time from the first session to correction) will lead to contamination.

Of course, the issue of hygiene in the permanent makeup procedure is extremely important. A professional who works hard and well, always puts responsibility for the client and himself in the forefront, he will never save at the expense of the client's health and his reputation.

Note to the client and the master

Permanent make-up procedure is a wonderful way to change the image, emphasize natural beauty, correct asymmetry. This is an extra half an hour of daily sleep by saving time on everyday makeup, the ability to look great during sports, in the sauna, pool, on the beach, and also the best solution for those clients who wear glasses and want to emphasize their individuality.

Permanent makeup, performed by a professional using high-quality equipment, certified pigments and the latest technology, of course, costs money, and a lot of it. However, the daily reflection in the mirror transformed as a result of the procedure over the next few years should put quality at the forefront of importance when a client decides to use the services of a micropigmentation specialist. Therefore, the choice of a competent master cannot be left to chance - a spontaneous decision by a client to undergo a permanent makeup procedure without getting acquainted with the reputation of a specialist is unacceptable.

Of course, not all the nuances are given in the article, on which the qualitative result of the procedure largely depends. Observance by a specialist of all the rules and subtleties of the process, constant improvement of skills and replenishment of knowledge will become necessary conditions for the success of the micropigmentation procedure.
