Strip polish: what is it and what are its advantages?

Several years ago, new products for nail coating – strip varnishes – entered the Russian and Ukrainian beauty markets. What they are and how they differ from gel polishes are discussed below.
The advent of gel polishes has radically revolutionized the world of nail aesthetics, because this type of coating allows you to wear the design for up to three weeks without worrying that the polish will fade, chip or peel off. The only thing that still worries many girls is that it is quite problematic to remove gel polish on their own, so as not to damage the nail plate and the skin around the nails.
About three or four years ago, new nail products appeared on the Russian and Ukrainian beauty markets, which promised girls what they so desired - to remove nail polish without a long stay in a beauty salon and without any effort, without soaking nails in special products, without files and milling cutters.
What is strip polish?
Strip polish (striplac) is an ultra-resistant nail polish that is similar in its properties to gel polish. According to manufacturers, strip polishes last on nails for up to 14 days, protect and strengthen natural nails and do not dry out the nail plate.
Strip polish is applied in the same way as gel polish. To begin with, the nails are degreased, after which a base, colored varnish and top coat are applied. Each layer, as when working with gel polishes, needs to be polymerized. You need to dry your nails in an LED lamp for 60 seconds, and in a UV lamp for two minutes. The final stage is removing the dispersion layer using a clinser.
How to remove strip polish?
Strip polish removal is its main advantage, which at one time shook up the entire nail industry. It simply peels off in strips from the nail plate, so every girl can carry out the removal procedure independently at home. In some cases, strip varnish must initially be softened using a special activator.
Thus, manufacturers claim that acetone, a milling cutter, nail files or other products and tools are not needed to remove this type of coating.
What really?
Initially, strip polishes became quite popular all over the world. Striplac brand Alessandro International was once represented by Pamela Anderson herself. New items have appeared in many showrooms, including in Ukraine and Russia.
Of course, in practice, everything turned out to be not as ideal as the manufacturers of miracle remedies assured. For the most part, strip polishes lasted for seven to ten days, after which they began to peel away from the nail plate. And with the removal everything turned out to be not so simple. Girls with weakened, dry, flaking and porous nail plates complained that removing the product was not so easy and safe, even damaging the top layer of the nails.
As a result, strip polishes began to be used less frequently in Ukraine. Today they are on sale, for example, in Germany and the USA. Some girls are satisfied with the results after using them and claim that using strip polishes at home is very comfortable.
