Men's coated manicure: popular design options and how to create them

The hero of our interview – Fedor Myslik , a master of hardware and combined manicure, who in one year of work has collected more than 30,000 subscribers on his Instagram account and more than 100,000 TikTok, ambassador of TM LakShery (Russia).

Fedor, tell us what nail procedures are now popular among men?

Nowadays it is popular to perform not only a hygienic manicure procedure, but also light leveling and coating with a matte top coat. Nails become velvety and pleasant to the touch, the shade of the nail plate is evened out. Men really like this procedure; it really suits them.

Is color coating popular?

It is very rare to be asked to do something bright and colorful and, as a rule, this is the desire of gay men. In general, people in Moscow rarely ask for coated manicures, but in the regions this is generally a closed topic. In the West, this is more popular, where musical performers, in particular rappers, often get bright manicures. A manicure is not at all an indicator that you are different, that there is something wrong with you. These are all stupid stereotypes.

What nail designs can be offered to men?

Firstly, all kinds of inscriptions. Secondly, geometry. Men are very fond of different geometric shapes, points, lines. These are, one might say, tattoos, but not on the skin, but on the nails. You can leave them for 3-4 weeks, take them off and make a new one.

Now there are a huge number of sliders of different shapes and sizes that can be placed pointwise or on the entire nail. The main thing is that the master has imagination, and then getting a beautiful men’s manicure is not a problem.

Another popular option is a dark monochromatic manicure.

Some men themselves come with certain design ideas, they prepare before coming to the master. They clearly know which nail should have an inscription on it and which should have a design on it. This is some kind of ritual.

How and with what can you create the design options you talked about?

Sliders and stamping are the most popular techniques with which you can create men's nail designs on your nails. To do this, you will need black gel polish (black is the color most often chosen by men), stamping plates or slider stickers.

Some inscriptions or unique designs can be created using a thin brush.
