ZeBrush 2020, a creative event for makeup artists, brands, schools, bloggers, designers and photographers, has been postponed to June. This year, a two-day art-escape awaits you, which will charge you with creativity, give you a lot of useful information and inspire you to the craziest ideas!

In the meantime, all makeup artists are sitting at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, ZeBrush 2020 speakers recommend not to get upset or relax, but to spend time productively! Below we tell you how the quarantine days of Slava Chaika, Gleb Atamanenko and Vladimir Atamas are going.

Slava Chaika , celebrity makeup artist, official Makeup Artist of L'Oreal Paris Ukraine, teacher

I would like to say that during the quarantine period I completed 100 online marathons, learned to cook, improved my English and will soon be able to land a plane using a simulator. But in reality, taking a long rest doesn't help my productivity much. Without a job you love, it’s not so easy to force yourself to do something.

But nevertheless, quarantine for me is an opportunity to become closer to my followers and students. I began to view the works of subscribers more often, and recently Anya Matveeva and I organized a fashion makeup competition with a detailed analysis of the works. The broadcast took three hours, but there was no hurry now. Moreover, I support my colleagues and actively participate in live broadcasts.

Outside of social media, I often flip through my library of rare fashion magazines and watch movies, trying to accumulate as many new ideas as possible. I returned to drawing to keep my hands busy. I go in for sports almost every day to keep my body and thoughts in good shape. And, of course, I pay attention to my loved ones so that they don’t feel lonely. Well, so that you have someone to ask for buckwheat later. (Laughs.)

In any case, I don’t think there’s any shame in being a little mopey and not trying to squeeze 100% of my activity out during quarantine. After all, even the blues can bring inspiration and help the birth of new images.

I encourage everyone to be more attentive to themselves and others, and also take care of their
well-being. Health to everyone!

Gleb Atamanenko , creative make-up artist GA, winner of the Nyx Face Awards UA (2019), winner of the Schwarzkopf Osis+ Made to Create (2018) in the Avantgarde nomination, make-up artist at the beauty salon “Vyacheslav Dudenko Studio D2”, teacher at FI JI Beauty Art Center, make-up artist at LimeLite Production

What am I doing during quarantine? I motivate and discipline myself, develop habits, get out of my comfort zone and fight laziness. A typical day in my quarantine life looks like this:

  • I wake up at 8.00, I try to go to bed earlier, around 23.00 - 24.00.
  • I take a contrast shower to wake up.
  • I meditate for 15 minutes.
  • I have breakfast (I change seven different breakfasts a week) and drink a cup of coffee.
  • I do a workout: I maintain my physical shape for two hours.
  • I'm learning English (YouTube, Netflix, programs, games).
  • I look for useful videos on YouTube - I am a fan of self-learning and love to discover new opportunities and develop my potential.
  • I devote time to creativity and its development.
  • I call up with friends, because I like to chat about anything and everything.
  • In the evening I love to cook something tasty for myself, practicing new recipes. But throughout the day I try to drink two liters of water, not eat sweets and carefully monitor my diet.
  • I watch one movie a day or one episode of a TV series.
  • I read books, mainly on psychology.
  • I play Call of Duty or Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 with friends on my smartphone.
  • I go to bed listening to my favorite music.
  • I'm dreaming.

PS Sometimes I go out at night to roller-skate or skateboard around the area, and I also go out onto the roof of my house and watch the sunset while drinking wine. Just shh...

Vladimir Atamas , makeup artist, beauty blogger, creator of the ATAMAS Makeup House makeup studio, successfully worked with Anna Sedokova, the groups “VIA Gra” and “Serebro”, Anya Boronina, Eldzhey and other stars (Kazakhstan)

In Kazakhstan, quarantine continues, everyone is staying at home. Sometimes I go to the studio to check everything and water the flowers. Nostalgia for work immediately kicks in, but I’m not sad. Since there is so much free time, it needs to be spent usefully! This includes developing teaching programs, creating presentations, searching for stories for a mood board, watching online broadcasts, oh yes, reading psychological literature and playing sports. The most important thing is to constantly organize yourself so that you don’t suddenly start to be lazy.

Quarantine is also a good time to unite with colleagues from all over the world and think through activities, for example, a marathon for makeup artists, where you can exchange experiences and get a charge of inspiration.
