Warm season hairstyle: features of braids and care for them
Turn on spring
Weaving is a type of hairstyle that is updated seasonally, during warm periods. And since spring is very close, let’s remember about braids - a very stylish and comfortable type of braids!
Braiding is a whole direction in the “section” of braids, associated with different types of braids. Specifically, braids are a type of African braids, which are performed by performing French braiding that fits tightly to the scalp.
A hairdresser can create an incredible number of hairstyles using these braids:
Afro curls for braids;
extension on braids;
Afro-curls for braids;
zizi on braids;
braids in the tail.
Externally, braids resemble afro braids, but the braiding method is different - in braids, the hair is braided using the French method, inside out. It is due to this method that the braids fit tightly to the scalp. With the help of braids, you can create weaving patterns of different levels of complexity and do it zonally, not over the entire area of the head.
Most often, braids are performed on the natural hair of long-haired clients. This method is the simplest and easiest to wear. However, simplicity also has its drawbacks: braids made from natural hair quickly lose their aesthetic and perfectly smooth appearance. Hair fluffs up faster and gets out from under the total mass. As practice shows, such brades are worn for up to 2-3 weeks.
If the client does not have enough length or wants a longer-lasting effect, then braids with Kanekalon are woven. Brades with Kanekalon are worn for more than a month, and the hairstyle itself is less frizzy and allows you to safely change your hair color for a while.
What disadvantages of weaving are important to consider?
Many clients report discomfort and a feeling of tension throughout the entire head for several days after the procedure. There is also a tightness of the scalp and even a headache due to lack of habit. But after a few days the discomfort goes away and the client gets used to the weaving.
Taking care of your hair is not so easy: more time is spent on washing and drying, but the frequency definitely decreases.
The braiding process takes several hours, especially if the braids are made on long hair. However, no longer than the procedure for dyeing or hair extensions.
Some clients note that it is too hot to wear Kanekalon braces in the summer.
If you neglect care, cleansing and thorough drying, then not only the appearance of the braids will suffer, but also the condition of your natural hair. Therefore, always instruct clients on proper home care.
About caring for braids
The recommended frequency of washing brades is once a week.
It is better to wash braids only with shampoo, without using a mask or conditioner - they are difficult to wash.
For washing, it is best to whip up foam on a washcloth and rinse the roots and braids, and then rinse with running water.
After this, thoroughly dry your hair with a towel. It is better not to use a hairdryer, this will make your hair fluffy and come out of your braids; in addition, if you use Kanekalon, it may become deformed from the hot air.
