For a month now, the British hair community has been talking about a new coloring technique called The Slither, which was invented by Becky Sutherland, owner of the Pink Lemon Hair salon and OSMO brand ambassador.

The Slither is a coloring technique in which thin ribbon strands of hair are dyed from top to bottom with different shades that match each other. This is actually a type of block painting. The strands contrast with the bulk of the hair, which makes this coloring unique for each client.

The basis for coloring in this technique can be any. Becky Sutherland, in her example, showed how coloring on an ash blonde can look like. This technique, as the creator says, is definitely suitable not only for bright colors, and the combination is not necessarily in the form of a rainbow.

The Slither technique applies color vertically to give the hair a contrasting hue instead of adding a highlight effect. This is what makes the coloring unique, and allows it to be combined with any color, and also be able to use any colors to achieve the result.

“What I came up with is something completely unconventional! Individual sections of hair that are colored differently than the rest are completely innovative and help the client stand out, whether you want it thick or thinner,” Becky writes on her Instagram.

Also in one of her posts, Becky Sutherland demonstrated step by step how to create such coloring.
