Smoky eyes makeup is one of the most sought after and popular today, because it suits absolutely everyone if done correctly. In the classic version, this makeup is created using black or gray - shades that create a feeling of haze. This is where the name of this makeup technique comes from. Now everything has become much more democratic: smoky eyes are done in both neutral colors and the brightest ones: green, blue, purple, red and others.
What do you need to create smoky eyes?
Today we will talk about smoky eyes in brown tones. Brown, with its huge variety of shades, always looks very advantageous.
So, to create this makeup you will need shadows in brown shades, shadows in lighter shades, a fairly soft pencil (can be either brown or black) and, of course, mascara . A pencil base is needed to correct the shape of the eye and make the makeup more durable.
How to choose the right shades for makeup?
It is equally important to choose the right shades of brown. If we want to emphasize cold blue or pure gray eyes, warm shades are ideal: golden, caramel, nut, mocha, sand, camel.
For those with green eyes, brown shades with a red undertone are great: cocoa, mahogany, chestnut, cognac.
And to highlight the beauty of brown eyes, use cool grayish brown shades: black coffee, dark chocolate, taupe, taupe. Brown-violet tones combine no less beautifully with brown eyes.
What product textures are best to use?
Smoky eye makeup in brown shades can be used for both daytime and evening - the difference is in the color saturation and textures used. If the matte texture of the shadows looks organic during the day, then in evening makeup it is permissible to use shimmer shadows and glitter.
How to create smoky eyes step by step?
The first stage is drawing with a pencil the interciliary space of the upper and lower eyelids, as well as the eyelash contour. Then apply the pencil to the movable and lower eyelids, blending thoroughly.
The next step is to apply shadows using a filling motion. To prevent the shadows from falling off, add a little bit of them onto the brush and follow the rule - the darker the shadows, the smaller the brush. The darkest colors should be on the eyelid, and the lightest ones should be under the eyebrow. You can apply shimmer shadows or highlighter to the inner corner of the eye. Soft shading and beautiful shade transitions are very important. All shades that you use on the upper eyelid should be repeated on the lower eyelid.
In order for the makeup to be neat and the transitions of shades to be smooth, the brushes must be clean and fluffy. It is advisable to have several of them.
Carefully painted eyelashes will beautifully highlight the haze on the eyelids. For evening makeup, you can use false eyelashes or bunches.
And one more rule: one thing should stand out in your makeup. In smoky makeup, the main role is played by the eyes, so for the lips, use either a neutral lipstick or a clear gloss.
To make smoky eyes look perfect, special attention should be paid to the skin of the face. The modern trend is healthy, glowing skin, not overloaded with foundation. Therefore, a light base, a little BB cream, blush in fresh shades and, of course, a highlighter will complete the makeup and provide your clients with a wonderful mood.
