On the eve of the New Year's holidays, you want even more radiance and shine on your face, especially makeup artists who are always open to experiments and ready to try new beauty techniques, for example, using highlighter instead of lipstick.

Rihanna, or rather leading makeup artist at Fenty Beauty Priscilla Ono, taught us to use a shimmering highlighter instead of lipstick a couple of years ago. She set a new trend by applying highlighter to the entire surface of the singer's lips to give the then trendy metallic effect.

Moreover, the sparkling beauty product makes lips look fuller and fuller, and allows you to create countless completely unique shades by mixing lipsticks and different highlighters. You can mix them on a palette or first apply lipstick to your lips and cover it with a cream highlighter or a shining product in a stick.

For a less pronounced effect, you can apply highlighter only to the center of your lips and highlight your Cupid’s bow with it - this way your lips will appear fuller and at the same time acquire a more laconic radiance. By the way, loose shadows or mattifying powder can be used in the same way, but for the opposite effect. These products will make your lips “velvety”, but, as in the previous case, they will help change the shade of lipstick.

Another trick from makeup artists is to use highlighter instead of lip pencil. For example, instead of using a colored pencil as a base for your lips, apply a highlighter in a stick or in pencil form. This technique will help you easily adjust the contour line, and will also provide a slight shine to the lipstick applied over it.

Preparing looks for New Year's corporate events, parties and filming is an ideal occasion to try a mix of lipstick and highlighter or apply the latter on your lips alone. Festive effect guaranteed!
