High persistent ponytail: the main rules for creating a hairstyle
What Always Works

Durability is a criterion that all clients want to receive by default when they come to a hairdresser for a haircut or styling. But, perhaps, it is the high ponytail (as well as the high bun) that requires great effort from the artist. We tell you in the material what rules always work.
How to braid a client a visually voluminous and thick ponytail without using false hair?
If the client does not have long hair, then the curls collected in a ponytail can look quite bulky and sparse. To avoid this situation, when creating a ponytail, we recommend doing the following: divide your hair horizontally into two parts and braid two ponytails: one slightly lower and the other higher, so that the upper ponytail is close to the lower one, as if blending into it. It is better to comb the lower ponytail to create an “internal volume” that can be covered with the fabric of the upper ponytail. Next, it’s a matter of styling the bangs, if any, smoothing the hair on the temporal areas and decorating the base of the tail.
If the problem of creating a high ponytail is that the hair is long enough, but the shape lasts for half an hour and then falls off, then use bobby pins as the most common method of fixation. All that needs to be done is to lift the upper part of the tail with two bobby pins, visually making it thicker.
If you don’t have bobby pins on hand, use a small crab hairpin that will help create volume using the same principle.
Using two bobby pins and an elastic band, you can make a reliable frame for the tail. This method of tying a ponytail is also used in cases where the client has very thick, dense hair and one elastic band is not enough even for two turns.
To create a high ponytail on long thick hair, you can use the same bobby pins and an elastic band, but only as the first stage, because then this hairstyle needs a roller. A roller or part of it is best used for a long-lasting, strong ponytail. It will hold, secure a little and add volume to the base of the ponytail.
A regular ponytail can be varied with a little backcombing on the top and a wavy texture. This hairstyle will create the feeling of very thick hair and additional volume, and the ponytail itself will appear longer and fuller.
How to create such a tail? You need to comb your hair well and divide it into two uneven parts with a horizontal parting, separating a smaller part of the hair on the crown area. The lower mass of hair should be gathered into a tight ponytail at the back of the head, and the upper mass should be combed and backcombed at the roots, and then laid back. Carefully cover the lower mass of hair with them, and, according to tradition, wrap a thin strand around the base of the tail and secure with bobby pins and styling products.
As before any hairstyle or styling, your hair needs to be prepared. How exactly - read in this material .
