Commerce and avant-garde in one bottle: The Lotus collection of images
By Candice McKay
The combination of different cutting techniques, commercial colors and styling is what makes The Lotus collection so unique and incredibly aesthetic.
“In these times of uncertainty and loss, we are inspired by the symbol of the lotus, a flower that gives us comfort and hope. The lotus has a very special life cycle and is unlike any other - at night it hides under water, in complete darkness, and as soon as the sun rises, the lotus is reborn. This is why the lotus flower is associated with rebirth and spiritual enlightenment. The lotus represents the act of rising above problems and moving towards wisdom; a perfect analogy to our ability to move from a place of suffering into the light. After all, we, too, can overcome difficulties and shine and blossom again,” explained the creator.
This new collection by Candice McKay perfectly combines avant-garde ideas with wearability. Combining technical cuts, commercial colors and a variety of textured styles, the Lotus collection reminds us of the ability of beauty and creativity to shine in adversity.
