Irina Chefranova , international level master, member of the Ukrainian national makeup team, certified judge of ABC of Ukraine, winner and prize-winner of numerous Ukrainian and international championships, creator of the beauty studio school Red Lips Studio (Vinnitsa)
What inspired you to create the work for the CHI World Cup? Where did you get your inspiration from?
Before creating an image, first of all, you need to decide on the model, since it will be the main source of your inspiration. Makeup is chosen specifically for the person you will be working with. Each girl has a different set of eyes, eyebrows and anatomical features of the face. I chose the makeup that would highlight the beauty of this particular model, since the same makeup will look different on different people.
Share your personal secrets and life hacks that help you get your work done in a truly creative and high-quality manner.
A very great desire to be the best and strong self-criticism. I prepared this look very carefully, thinking through all the details: makeup, hairstyle and accessories. There are no small details in such productions, since you will either like your image or not - there will be no chance for a second impression.
You can’t give yourself permission to do things at random and expect special results. You need to do everything possible and impossible and impress the judges so much that they have no choice and give the highest score.
What materials and tools played a key role in the creation of your competition entry?
I only used two palettes - these were SLA eyeshadow palettes. They have very high color saturation and blend smoothly. I really love these shadows - they are my main assistants at all championships.
What is important to pay attention to when preparing for the championship? How long did it take you to complete it?
For me, the most important and main person at the championship was, is and will be my coach - Taisiya Vasilyeva . All details with preparation, choosing a model, setting the image and makeup sketch, choosing an outfit and hairstyle - all these and other actions are supervised by the trainer.
It took me two weeks to prepare for the Hairworld 2020 compulsory medical insurance, thanks to the experience of previous championships, for which I spent more than two years preparing.
How to take a high-quality photo of your work to highlight its merits?
The photo of my model was taken by a professional photographer in a photo studio. It is impossible to take a photo of this quality on a phone. It’s best when everyone does their own thing - the makeup artist draws, the model poses, and the photographer takes photographs.
Have you participated in offline championships before? Which format – offline or online – do you personally prefer?
In 2018 in Paris at the OMC World Championships, I took first place as a member of the Ukrainian makeup team, and also participated in regional championships and the Ukrainian Championship, where I also took prizes.
I like both online and offline formats. Of course, offline is more interesting and atmospheric, since you are involved in a big action and you are surrounded by many like-minded people. It is, of course, very difficult to experience these emotions through the online format.
Miroslava Datsyuk , international level master, member of the Ukrainian national makeup team, makeup artist/stylist, eyebrow artist, lash maker, graduate of the Felix Stein school of professional makeup (Israel), winner and prize-winner of Ukrainian and international championships
What inspired you to create the work for the CHI World Cup? Where did you get your inspiration from?
Shortly before the championship, I was inspired by the work of some of the winners, because to begin with, a future competitor needs observation.
I really love pearls. One day I bought a pearl sword belt and thought that I would definitely need it someday! In addition, pearls are a talisman of creativity. It was this sword belt that inspired me to create a creative image for the World Cup.
Share your personal secrets and life hacks that help you get your work done in a truly creative and high-quality manner.
I believe that first of all you need to constantly train (on yourself, on models, on family, on face charts). Especially try to please yourself first!
What materials and tools played a key role in the creation of your competition entry?
When creating the bride's image, pearl stones from Swarovski played a key role. They highlighted the sophistication, sophistication and elegance of my Pearl Princess.
What is important to pay attention to when preparing for the championship?
The most important thing is the image as a whole. To create it, you need to choose the right model so that she professionally conveys the image to the camera; choose a makeup scheme and fit it anatomically on the model’s face; choose clothes and accessories that harmoniously complement the image. The choice of hair stylist and photographer is also important, since the result depends on the entire team.
I would like to say a special thank you to my coaches – Taisiya Vasilyeva and Natalya Khadeeva .
