Cascade for short hair: features and types
Let's sort it out
What are the features of a cascade for short hair and how to cut the classic version of such a haircut? We'll tell you in the material!
The essence of a cascade haircut is that strands of different lengths are created, the boundaries between them are clearly defined, and each upper strand is shorter than the lower one. The shortest hair remains on the top of the head, and on the back of the head, accordingly, the longest. Thanks to such transitions, the cascade goes well with different types of coloring.

What types of cascade are there?
Graduated cascade
On short hair, graduation starts from the crown, and on longer hair, from the middle of the entire length. This haircut adds volume perfectly.
Ragged cascade
The transition between levels is not smooth, but abrupt, the length of the strands varies along the entire length.
Double cascade
In a double layer, the hair is cut over the entire surface of the head, including the temporal areas. On the crown and in the parietal area of the head there are several thin layers, the number of which decreases towards the back of the head. The strands below will remain longer.
Italian cascade
Approximate hair length is below the ears. Graduation does not begin along the entire length, but only at the bottom of the strands. The Italian cascade is made with neatly profiled bangs.
Basic principles of cascade haircut technology for short hair
1. The entire mass of hair must be divided into zones: back of the head, parietal and temporal.
2. At the top of the head, separate the control strand and cut it parallel to the floor. It will set the length of the entire haircut.
3. Next, the haircut continues on the back of the head - you need to separate small strands from the total mass, connect them with the control one, pull them parallel to the field and cut them.
4. In the dark zone, the hair should be processed from crown to forehead, and the strands should be pulled upward, perpendicular to the field.
5. The temporal zones are trimmed after the parietal, also with an upward pull.
6. Finally, the bangs are formed and milled, and the haircut contour is corrected.
