3 haircuts that are no longer relevant
Take note!
Which haircuts are already out of fashion in 2020? And does the concept of fashion for haircuts even exist or should it be called relevance?

I believe that it is very difficult to determine the authority that dictates fashion in hair cutting. That is, it would be correct to say not “fashionable haircuts,” but “current ones.”
During a consultation, I do not use the concept of “fashionable haircut”, but always select a haircut personally for each client. I also do not use specific shapes, but rather apply principles to create an exclusive shape for the client.
The problem with certain forms is that they have strict/limited technical requirements for execution. That is, such forms are difficult to adapt. Therefore, special principles must be used to create an individual form.
But still, if we analyze what was relevant 10-20 years ago, we can safely distinguish three forms.
Cascade
This is a form of haircut with a short length at the crown and maximum length towards the contour. There is a large gap between the lengths, but smooth. This shape also creates a strong texture effect. This haircut was relevant 20 or more years ago, as it reflected a new look at fashion at that time.
Now the client prefers less contrast between the lengths of the volume and contour.
If we highlight the principles by which this form is created, then the main technique is layers. If you create an individual haircut shape based on layers, then the haircut will be relevant even now.
Page
This is a haircut with a massive, even contour that frames the face; a clear line extends from the bangs towards the back of the head.
The page is not suitable for people with large facial features, a square shape and wide cheekbones. The hairstyle was also relevant 40 or more years ago - as a completely new look at hair cutting.
Now the client prefers less contrast between the hair lengths. But if we highlight the technique with which this form was created, then this is a line.
If you use a line technique with a slight extension from the face towards the back of the head, but only from the level of the lips or chin, then the shape will still be relevant today.
Short asymmetrical or oblique bangs
Oblique bangs are not a full-fledged form, it is rather an element in a haircut. This is the bang, the length of which starts at the level of the middle of the forehead and extends in one direction to the level of the eyebrow - so as not to interfere.
A common problem with such bangs is that they are difficult to balance with the shape: their length is very short in relation to the overall length, and the design of the bangs is done without taking into account the mass of the hair. It really breaks the proportions of a person’s face and suits few people.
Such bangs were popular 20 or more years ago because they created a new and convenient design. I believe that bangs should not only be comfortable, but, first of all, take into account how appropriate they are to individual characteristics.
If we highlight the technique with which such bangs are created, then there is none. That is, an alternative to this bang can be a layering technique with greater length retention and less elongation - this will give a choice for each client individually.
If we analyze all of the above forms, they have one thing in common: a large difference between lengths without maintaining balance in the form.
Nowadays, haircuts with contrasting lengths may be relevant, but always with balanced shapes.
