Let's figure out what anime makeup is, why beauty publications are talking about it, and how, finally, to perform it if a makeup artist is faced with such an unusual task.

Every year there are only more fans of anime, as well as creations of Japanese animation. Considering that anime's target audience is teenagers and adults, not children, it makes sense that makeup inspired by your favorite cartoon characters will continue to gain popularity around the world.

As a rule, female anime characters have large doll eyes, perfect fair skin and bow lips. It is these features that are important to take into account if you are going to create a naive, touching and cute anime makeup. To do this, you just need to use ordinary cosmetic products - the presence of professional makeup products is not necessary.

Anime style face makeup

All anime characters have bleached, pale and seemingly translucent skin - this is the result that is important to achieve when doing makeup. So use the lightest cool-toned foundation you have in your makeup artist's arsenal, even if the model's skin is darker or warmer in tone. Do not forget to disguise the dark circles under the eyes with the same color - the girl’s face should look like porcelain, without the slightest flaw.

To set your face makeup, use translucent loose powder. But you should apply blush depending on your wishes. In anime, pinkish spots of blush appear on the cheeks of heroines only in moments of extreme embarrassment - be sure to take this into account.

Anime eye makeup

The main focus in anime makeup is the eyes. At the same time, they should look large and bright, with an oriental cut.

It is important to highlight the inner corners of the eyes with a white pencil, while the drawn “corners” should look with the tail down. This step will give the look the desired innocence.

We also emphasize the lower eyelid with a white or other light pencil to widen the look as much as possible.

Anime eye makeup is not complete without doll wings. Use a dark liner or gel eyeliner to define heavy lines on your upper eyelids. The tails of the arrows should look up, heading towards the eyebrow line.

As a rule, shadows are also used in this type of makeup. These can be both dark and light shades - it all depends on the overall image of the model or client. It is important to blend the shadows well, creating a hazy effect on the eyelids. Don't forget to apply the base first.

And the last important point is false eyelashes. Here you can give free rein to maximalism and use large, fluffy and deliberately doll-like eyelashes. This is a case where they are deliberately not meant to look natural.

Lip makeup

Anime-style lip makeup involves a “bow” shape, which is what we need to work on. To get closer to the desired shape, you should first disguise the natural boundaries of the lips with concealer or a thick foundation. Then, use your fingertips to press a matte lipstick in a bright shade into the center of your lips. The main goal is to make the lips fuller in the center.

As a rule, makeup artists choose red, pink and peach shades for anime lip makeup. In this case, you should not strive for naturalness, so choose the most doll-like tones that you can wish for.
