Vaginal candidiasis is one of the most common inflammatory urogenital disorders in women, which is caused by yeast-like fungi Candida albicans. Up to 80% of women face this problem at least once

According to the statistics of the World Health Organization, in many countries of the world, including Ukraine, the number of patients with vaginal infections, namely candidal vulvovaginitis, has increased significantly.

Candidal vulvovaginitis is registered not only as an independent disease, but also as a concomitant of sexually transmitted infections. Candidal vulvovaginitis is an infectious lesion of the mucous membrane of the vulva and vagina, the frequency of which is 30-45% in the structure of infectious diseases of the lower part of the genital tract.

Statistics show that about 75% of women under the age of 25 had at least one episode of vulvovaginal candidiasis in their history, 40-50% had repeated episodes, and 5% of women had a recurrent form of the disease. At the same time, in 20-50% of women, Candida fungi are determined as part of the normal microflora of the vagina without the manifestation of clinical symptoms.
