What you need to know in the diagnosis of photodamage

Photodamage is a reaction of the skin and the human body in general to light radiation, which can lead to skin cancer, one of the most common types of cancer.
Photodamage of the skin (FD) develops after some time (a few minutes a day) and lasts from several days to several months. Therefore, it is generally accepted to divide FD into acute, chronic, and those that can occur both in acute and chronic form.
According to Fitzpatrick, acute FDÂ includes:
- sunburn;
- phototoxic reactions;
- photoallergic reactions;
- idiopathic reactions.
To chronic:
- solar heroderma;
- persistent solar erythema;
- senile lentigo;
- solar keratosis;
- malignant skin tumors.
For mixed:
- porphyria;
- pigmented xeroderma;
- pellagra.
