Hardware methods of rejuvenating the upper third of the face

First, let's define the boundaries of the zone called "upper third of the face". By this term, we mean the area bounded above by the hair growth zone, and below by the horizontal line passing through the corners of the eyes. The temporal region is bounded above by the crest of the temporal bone, and below by the zygomatic bone. This zone is also called the temporal fossa.

Aging of the face as a whole and its upper third in particular today is represented as a complex of changes that occur not only with the skin, but also with the underlying structures: bones of the facial skeleton, muscles, ligaments and subcutaneous fat tissue.

How to make the correction successful?

In order for both the specialist and the patient to be satisfied with the correction of involutional changes in the upper third of the face, several mandatory conditions must be met. First, the individual anatomical and physiological features of the patient's face should be determined (skin changes, skull deformation, removal of fat packs, redistribution of fluids), type of muscle activity (kinetic, hypokinetic, hypotonic), type of facial skin aging.

Secondly, it is necessary to draw up a comprehensive program for the restoration of subcutaneous structures, taking into account the level of manifestation of changes in this area and discuss it in detail with the patient, clarifying his wishes.

To achieve the maximum harmonious result, a comprehensive approach is required, which includes the use of:

• manual techniques (massage in combination with cosmetic care procedures, peelings, osteopathic methods);
• injection therapy (botulinum therapy, mesotherapy, contour plastic);
• hardware methods of action;
• surgical manipulations.
