Today, there is a steady increase in the frequency and prevalence of allergic skin diseases in the world. Allergodermatoses are multifactorial diseases based on both genetic and environmental factors. Let's consider the main aspects of the etiology and pathogenesis of allergic dermatoses, which are still complex and only partially studied.

In modern science, allergy is understood as a changed, increased sensitivity to foreign substances for the body. Allergens are the direct cause of this condition - substances (mainly of a protein nature), which, when they enter an organism sensitive to their influence, cause an allergic reaction, which leads to tissue and organ damage.

Allergens can be conditionally divided into two groups:

  • exoallergens (exist in the external environment);
  • endoallergens (formed directly in the body).

The etiology and pathogenesis of allergodermatoses in many respects still remain unclear. According to modern ideas, the main pathogenetic mechanism of allergic dermatoses is the presence of systemic allergic inflammation with active manifestation on the skin. Allergy is a pathological form of reaction of the immune system, as a result of which the body's own cells and tissues are damaged.
