The question of the seasonality of permanent makeup is of concern to many clients. Is it better to do it in summer or winter? What period of the year is considered optimal for tattooing in different areas? We will talk about this in detail in the article.

Of course, tattooing is an all-weather procedure. The master can perform the PM of any zone when it is most convenient for his client - on the eve of the New Year holidays or before a trip to the sea.

And yet there is a difference. It is associated with the peculiarities of care after the permanent makeup procedure in warm and cold periods. There are also nuances for healing and restoring the skin.

PM in summer: features, pros and cons

In summer, every woman wants to look especially attractive, so she pays closer attention to her appearance. When planning a vacation, many people realize that during this period they will rarely use cosmetics. And, in order to always look good, they consider permanent makeup as a panacea that will help to forget about cosmetics and at the same time have an impeccable appearance.

However, before the procedure, the master must draw the attention of the client to several factors:

  • the skin after the tattoo should heal properly. The healing period, on average, takes up to 3 weeks and during this time the skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight. This completely excludes visiting the beach and solarium. In extreme cases, you can go out under direct ultraviolet rays only by reliably covering the tattoo area (for example, using a wide-brimmed hat);
  • injured skin should not be wetted, especially with chlorinated water. Thus, until complete healing, it is forbidden to visit the pool and sauna;
  • it is necessary to protect the skin from exposure to other external factors (dust, dirt, sand, sweat, etc.) This is another reason why the idea of a beach should be put aside;
  • the client may experience mild discomfort in the form of slight itching and flaking during skin recovery, and with improper care, crusts may form.

All of the above convinces that it is better to get a tattoo a few weeks before a vacation trip. But!

After the first session of the permanent, a correction is required, which is recommended to be carried out after 28-30 days. In this procedure, the master has the opportunity to correct minor flaws. Accordingly, after the correction, it also takes time for skin regeneration. Therefore, ideally, the procedure should be carried out 1.5-2 months before the planned vacation.

The benefits of permanent makeup in the summer season are immediately noticeable. Most importantly, there is no need to use decorative cosmetics, which eliminates the need to constantly control your appearance, regularly tint your eyebrows, lips and eyelids. Tattoo completely eliminates any discomfort.

But the summer period regarding tattooing is also associated with some disadvantages.

As practice shows, it is in the summer that the number of people who want to do permanent makeup is growing. The schedule of the masters is tight and it is not always possible to do the procedure at a convenient time for the client.

The process of performing the procedure can bring discomfort if there is no air conditioning in the studio.

The client needs to take into account the impact of ultraviolet radiation on non-healed skin and its negative effect on the pigment. And if the eyebrows and eyelids can be covered with any headdress or glasses, then the situation with the lips is more complicated, they cannot be hidden from the sun's rays. Therefore, when performing lip tattooing, it is recommended to limit exposure to the sun.

Some of the nuances of caring for PM in the summer can also be attributed to disadvantages: firstly, due to the heat, there is increased sweating, and secondly, more sunny days make it necessary to adjust the frequency of being outside. Even if these factors do not frighten your clients, it should definitely be recalled that in the summer it is recommended to pay more attention to the issue of skin care after the permanent makeup procedure.

PM in winter: features, pros and cons

In winter, tattooing is as relevant as in summer. Especially at such moments when the durability of cosmetics is out of the question. For example, during the period of precipitation in the form of snow or rain. The obvious advantage of getting tattooed in winter is the elimination of a lot of sweating, as well as faster healing of the skin.

But you need to make a permanent in cold weather carefully, because:

  • during this period, the likelihood of ARVI increases. During the procedure and after it, immunity is reduced, thereby the client risks catching the virus. The master must remember that in case of any manifestations of malaise, the procedure must be postponed.
  • despite the fact that in winter the sun heats not so actively, ultraviolet rays still negatively affect the pigment. And if in the summer you can cover up a fresh eyebrow tattoo with the help of a seasonal headdress, then in winter, sunglasses will be the most suitable option;
  • when putting on some things (for example, a turtleneck sweater, a scarf), the client must be as careful as possible so as not to touch the skin that has not yet healed and prevent its re-injury;
  • For the first week, it is important to limit exposure to frost, as low temperatures lead to dry skin.

So is there a perfect season for permanent makeup? The answer is simple - spend it at any time convenient for you and your client, observing all the rules of procedure. And be sure to advise your client on the nuances of caring for PM in different seasons of the year!
