Is it possible to carry out a tattoo if there are moles at the site of the future intervention? This is a question that worries many experts.

Most experts do not consider moles to be contraindications for permanent makeup, but stipulate certain rules that the master must follow when carrying out the procedure in the presence of nevi. So, what does the master need to know about before proceeding with the “over the mole” procedure and making it safe?

When is a mole not an obstacle?

A mole is a benign formation that does not pose any danger or harm to health. But they are very sensitive and must be protected from damage so that they do not develop from a benign formation into a malignant one - melanoma.

Benign moles have smooth edges, small (up to 6 mm) size, solid color (from almost colorless to deep black). Malignant formations of a larger size - from 6 mm and above, with uneven (torn) edges and may have spots of several shades. Working near such a birthmark necessarily requires the permission of a dermatologist.

Experienced PM masters, as well as dermatologists, agree that the areas where moles are located should be treated very carefully. Nevi must be carefully bypassed during work and in no case should they be damaged by the needle of the tattoo machine. It is strictly forbidden to carry out tattooing on the mole itself, but you can bypass this area by elegantly disguising it.

The master must:

  • retreat from the formation of 1 mm;
  • work around;
  • work accurately (for this, it is recommended to use combinations of techniques in the work - hairs, spraying, Dotwork (work with dots)).

Only such an approach will avoid damage to these formations, and, accordingly, negative consequences. But it is worth understanding that under such conditions there are certain nuances in the work of the master. It is important to note that with this method of work, raw areas become more contrast, and this may not coincide with the client's expectations. Experts advise to immediately warn the client that he may have to tint a bright place with a pencil.

The main thing is safety!

If the master has even the slightest uncertainty that his work will not provoke growth or changes in education, he must refuse the procedure for such a client and, first of all, send the client to an appointment with a dermatologist. Perhaps the doctor will advise you to remove the nevus. After 2-3 months, after the final healing, the client will be able to return for the procedure.

Experts do not recommend tattooing if the mole is located very close to the lip or eyebrow. It must be remembered that when applied, coloring pigments will still have an undesirable effect on the nevus. With a close location, the mole will be affected by an allergic reaction that occurs when the pigment is injected into the skin next to it. The safe distance to the nevus is 3 mm. If the distance is smaller, this can lead to a change in the formation and its increase. It is necessary to consult a doctor to eliminate the risk of inflammation and not provoke the development of oncological processes.

And every specialist must be 100% sure of the safety of the pigments and know that the composition of the dyes is hypoallergenic.

As you can see, permanent makeup in the presence of moles can be done. It is only worth taking this masters seriously so that your authority as a professional is not violated by possible unpleasant consequences.
