Permanent lip makeup: different techniques for different clients
Approach the procedure of permanent makeup must be conscious!
Which lip tattoo is best for each specific client? What should be guided by the master when choosing a technique? More details in our article
What type of permanent lip makeup is best? Which one is right for me? With such questions, clients come to the master and already at the stage of planning the PM procedure, they want to receive qualified answers. We will try to provide the masters with the most useful information on this matter.
To the question “which lip tattoo is better?” it is difficult to answer unequivocally, because for each technique of PM lips there are indications. If the client needs to correct the color of the lips, they choose one technique, for asymmetry camouflage - another, to add volume - the third. That is why very often masters offer their clients mixed techniques.
For example, lip contour tattooing as an independent technique is rarely used. It is addressed only in those cases when the task of the master is precisely to correct the flaws in the contour of the lips (its “blurring”). When working on the contour, it is important to choose a pigment color that will be as close as possible to the natural color of the lips. Here the master must be a real virtuoso in matters of color.
But most often, contour lip tattooing is complemented by light shading, because contoured lips do not correspond to the trends of modern permanent makeup. After recreating the harmonious contour of the lips, shading is recommended in order to create a smooth transition of color between the contour and the surface of the lips. Masters can offer their clients different types of shading: full coverage of the lip surface, or two-thirds, or even a third of the lip surface. In this technique, it is also necessary to use the most natural shades. Errors in color selection after healing can lead to the effect of "eaten lips" if the color contrast is too high.
Lip shading is considered a universal procedure, but masters should remember that it is contraindicated for girls with too thin lips, because. this technique can even out the already small volume of the lips.
Full lip filling (lipstick effect) is used in cases where the client wants to radically change the color of her lips or change the shape (correct asymmetry, visually increase volume). Complete filling of the lips with pigment is performed in a watercolor non-contour technique. It uses nude, natural shades of pigments that can cover the pale color of the client's lips. The second option for completely filling the lips with pigment is using the “lipstick effect” technique. In this case, it is supposed to use bright shades that will make the lips more expressive. The pigment in this technique fits quite tightly, and the contour is drawn clearly. But the master must necessarily discuss with the client the choice of equipment, discuss all the pros and cons.
With the technique of full filling, lip tattooing with the effect of 3D and 6D is inherently similar. These are quite complex techniques, because to create a visual volume, the master must operate with at least three shades (sometimes up to 6 tones of pigments are used for lip tattooing). The main purpose of this type of tattoo is to create color highlights and give the effect of swollen lips. The main difficulty lies in the choice of the right shades, the correct creation of the borders of the transition from color to color, the jewelry execution of the gradient.
Natural lip tattoo
According to current trends in PM, this is the option that customers are increasingly choosing. Fashion for natural makeup and tattooing has been in trend for several years. And the goal of permanent makeup masters is to achieve the most natural result, which will not arouse suspicion in the cosmetic intervention of a micropigmentation specialist.
