Permanent eyebrow makeup while breastfeeding
Can the pigment affect the quality of lactation?

Any cosmetic procedure raises doubts during pregnancy and lactation, and one that requires intervention inside the body is even more so.
We offer to assess the risks together with us and decide whether it is worth signing up for a micropigmentation procedure for a pregnant woman or a client who has recently given birth, or suggest that she postpone her visit to the permanent makeup office for several months. So let's weigh the pros and cons
Eyebrow tattoo and pregnancy
Any cosmetic procedure raises doubts during pregnancy, and one that requires intervention inside the body is even more so. Although the manipulation is minimally invasive, the question of its appropriateness during childbearing is quite appropriate. Pregnancy is a relative contraindication for eyebrow tattooing. However, most masters do not recommend doing the procedure during this period. And there are a number of reasons for this.
When a woman is preparing to become a mother, a serious hormonal change takes place in her body. Actually, because of this factor, they do not recommend doing a lot of things during this period. The pigment that is introduced into the body does not harm the fetus, but can play against the client. Because of these same hormones, paint can behave unpredictably - change color or be completely rejected by the body. Usually, during the healing period after eyebrow tattooing, about 70% of the paint remains under the skin. In pregnant women, this percentage can be much lower.
Not a single master will be able to give an exact answer to the question of how the pigment will take root in each individual case. It can come out completely in a month, and the client will only waste money.
The highest chance of rejection is in the first trimester. In addition, the process of pregnancy itself is important. Therefore, if your client is in a position, but has firmly decided on the procedure, send her for an additional consultation with a doctor who monitors her pregnancy.
Another reason to postpone permanent eyebrow makeup is the excessive sensitivity that is inherent in women during childbearing. The procedure can be painful for her even with anesthesia.
Is it possible to do eyebrow tattoo while breastfeeding?
The lactation period is just the time when the procedure could help the young mother to remain irresistible without wasting time on makeup. But do not forget that the body of such a client is still under the influence of hormones. Therefore, in the first months after childbirth, the probability of pigment rejection is exactly the same as during pregnancy.
The influence of the lactation period on the quality of the work performed
It is not advisable to do permanent makeup during this life span because of the unpredictability of the result in the future. The main hormone that regulates the secretion of milk from the milky tract is prolactin. With the help of it, the water-salt balance is controlled, accelerated metabolic processes are launched. As a result, at any time after healing, such unpleasant phenomena as:
- a change in the color of the pigment - it can abruptly change from dark brown or black to gray or blue;
- due to the acceleration of metabolism, the immune cells of the skin begin to actively resist the dye and it is washed out not in 1-1.5 years, but 2 times faster;
- the worst option is that not the entire surface of the drawing will be covered with a tattoo, it will look like spots or gaps.
Even if the master does the job efficiently, even if the client carefully cares for the tattoo during the recovery period and protects the baby from allergens, it is impossible to predict the individual reaction of the body. For this reason, the client must decide at her own risk whether or not to undergo the procedure.
If the young mother nevertheless decided on the procedure during such a period, the master is advised to pay attention to gentle techniques when choosing. It is best to choose the shadow technique, as it is easy to apply, does not take much time and is the least painful of all existing ones.
And yet, we want to remind you that experts do not recommend getting a tattoo in the first six months of breastfeeding. After 6 months, you can go for the procedure, but even here the master will not be able to give a 100% guarantee of a successful result.
