Once upon a time, freckles were considered a flaw, but a few years ago the attitude towards them changed. If earlier the owners of freckles were forced to mask them with concealers and remove them with a laser, now girls specially draw brown dots with eyebrow pencils, and the most daring ones do freckle tattooing. Most likely, in 2021 the trend will continue. Did clients come to you with a request for a freckle tattoo?

Freckles are on trend!

Fashion is changeable, however, as well as beauty trends. What was once hidden is now emphasized and vice versa. A vivid example of this is the fashion for freckle tattooing. Why is this trend back? Perhaps this is due to the fact that the correct tattooing of freckles, which have always been associated with youth and carelessness, will help visually rejuvenate the face.

Freckles are small pigment spots, mainly located on open areas of the skin: on the face and hands. Sometimes freckles are found on the torso. Their appearance is due to the deposition in the skin of a special coloring matter - melanin. As a rule, freckles are most often found in red-haired girls, as well as in owners of fair skin and hair.

Fair-haired and fair-skinned people have a higher concentration of melanin. There are exceptions, and freckles appear on the faces of brunettes and people with dark skin. But freckles look most organic on a light background. Therefore, tattooing freckles on the face can be recommended primarily to girls of the Scandinavian and Celtic types of appearance with light eyes, hair and skin.

To accurately achieve a beautiful result, permanent freckles are best done on perfect skin, without the presence of a rash and enlarged pores. The applied tattoo will focus on the T-zone (nose and lower forehead), where the activity of the sebaceous glands is higher than in any other area of the face. So if a client with problem skin comes to you, the permanent will only draw attention to it.

We keep natural

Permanent freckles can be positioned quite arbitrarily, just like natural freckles. For a natural effect, it is important for the master to avoid perfect symmetry, apply freckles of the same size and at the same distance. Freckles should be randomly scattered over the cheeks and nose to get the most natural effect. Therefore, a professional should avoid a single pattern when making freckle tattoos, and create a unique pattern in each individual case.

It is recommended to place artificial freckles mainly on the nose and upper cheeks, this is the area where the most sun exposure occurs. So freckles will look as natural as possible.

The technique of freckle tattooing is slightly different from permanent makeup of eyebrows or lips. The pigment is introduced at a shallower depth. Since the injection area is small, compared to the same eyebrow tattoo, everything heals much faster. The pigment "settles" in the skin after 1-2 weeks and the freckles take on a natural look.

First, the master must apply a sketch to represent the image that the client wants to end up with. At the sketch stage, it is necessary to coordinate the location of each spot with the client. Brown and beige pigments are used for work. The master must carefully select the shade of the pigment so that it matches the client's skin color perfectly. Usually a combination of three different colors is used. Depending on the client's skin tone, you can use cold or warm tones, as well as shades of different depths. After about 5 weeks, freckles will become 20% lighter.

After the procedure, advise your clients not to use chemical peels, creams with glycolic acid, AHAs, and in general any exfoliating products, because they lead to the rapid disappearance of pigment. And be sure to use sunscreen every time you go outside!
