Is it possible to combine tattoo and plastic surgery? In some cases, plastic surgery becomes a necessity. How to combine these two methods of the beauty industry so that the result does not harm and exceeds the wildest expectations?

With what main request do women come to the PM studio or to the beautician's office? This is visual rejuvenation. One of the important and priority tasks of anti-aging care for clients is the correction of aesthetic flaws associated with skin aging processes: ptosis, asymmetry, sagging tissues. An experienced permanent make-up master can visually make a woman several years younger. However, such problems can not always be solved only with the help of permanent makeup. And in some cases, PM without plastic surgery will not work. How to combine these two methods so that the result exceeds the wildest expectations - we will discuss in the article.

The right combination is the key to success

On aging skin, it is not always possible to do permanent make-up of the eyelids. The skin in this area is thin, quickly loses firmness and elasticity, sags over time. Ptosis gradually develops, overhanging folds form.

For a client with pronounced age-related changes in the periorbital zone, the masters are forced to refuse to perform the procedure, since permanent makeup will only further emphasize the flaws, instead of visually hiding them. The arrows will appear asymmetrical and sloppy, and the overhanging eyelid can generally cover the area where the tattoo was performed.

There is only one way out - first to remove the aesthetic imperfections of the skin that have arisen with age, with the help of blepharoplasty, and only then carry out tattooing of the eyelids. Blepharoplasty before permanent makeup is needed if the patient has:

  • pronounced sagging of the skin;
  • deep wrinkles on the eyelids;
  • excess skin around the eyelids;
  • obvious asymmetry.

A plastic surgeon will be able to remove excess skin during an upper or lower eyelid lift, if necessary, get rid of hernias or restore eye symmetry.

After the patient has passed the first stage of anti-age correction, she can sign up for the procedure of permanent make-up of the eyelids, only after waiting for the complete healing of this area. On average, the recovery period after blepharoplasty takes six months. But (attention!) only the plastic surgeon who performed the operation will be able to determine exactly when it is possible to tattoo the eyelids.

At the same time, eyebrow tattooing after blepharoplasty can be done much faster - 10-14 days after the operation, when swelling and bruising disappear.

Blepharoplasty after an old eyelid tattoo

It happens that the permanent make-up of the eyelids was done several years ago, and the intervention of a plastic surgeon was required only now. There are two ways to resolve this situation:

  • make blepharoplasty, then carry out a tattoo correction or remove the old PM (if its shape does not allow correcting). The client should know that after the operation, in any case, correction or partial removal will be required, since the drawing will be deformed one way or another;
  • remove the tattoo, and then do blepharoplasty. This is the only correct way out if there is a possibility of the pigmentation area getting into the scar. Later, when the scar has healed, it will be much more difficult to remove the pigment. After complete regeneration of the skin after surgery, tattooing can be done again.

Is it necessary to remove the old tattoo before blepharoplasty - the plastic surgeon will say after the initial consultation.
